This is Phil Ebiner's general-purpose Photoshop course, refreshed in February 2026 and opening with a 108-minute crash course before the 19 sections that follow. The syllabus covers the basics, layers and masks, selections, shapes and text, blend modes, retouching, and a long 22-lecture block on Camera RAW, plus a short section on Firefly AI features. It's built for people who have never opened Photoshop or have only poked at it. The audience list says advanced users won't get much out of it, though several long-time users in the reviews say they still picked up tricks, especially with masks and newer tools.

Students like how Phil explains things. Reviewers call his style simple and clear, several are repeat students, and one came back after trying a different Photoshop course. The practice files get credit too. The complaints are mostly about version drift: some lessons show an older Photoshop, so menus and buttons sit in different places on a current install, and one reviewer found it hard to tell when the instructor clicked a tool. A PC user was annoyed that on-screen keystrokes drift to Mac-only, and said Q&A answers took over a day. One low rating wanted photo work only and found too much illustration.

I thought the class was good but at some points it was hard to follow along and I found myself stopping the video just to figure out where and when the instructor clicked on a tool or rasterized a layer because that wasn't instructed clearly.

Some times it was hard to follow along because my software was a newer version and the buttons were in a totally different location. Overall the instructor explained each step well. There were plenty of practice material to work along side with.

It was a good informative course, i really enjoy the detail he goes into. I wouldn't say I am advanced or able to design much in terms of graphics but, I do feel more confident with photo editing, and using the software. There is a very large section in raw photo editing which is very good. I look forward to future updates.

I tried with another instructor and just couldn't comprehend as she went too quickly and assumed the student knew stuff. Also, the screen she used did not match my photoshop 2025, nor did she provide the same images for download that she was using, making it that much more difficult to follow along. This instructor is beyond easy to follow along, provides all files he is using and explains exactly how photoshop 2025 behaves. My screen looks like his and it makes everything much easier. Thank you for making my learning experience enjoyable! I highly recommend this instructor and this course!
