Course Description
Have you ever desired to play guitar by ear? Have you ever watched your favorite guitar hero seemingly grab melodies out of thin air? Have you ever seen a musician listen to a song and then start playing it right away, including chords?
If you answered yes to any of these, you are in the right place. As a young musician with limited funds and no Internet, learning to play guitar by ear was what I relied on for many years and is the most important and indispensable tool a guitar player/musician can have.
In this 30 lecture course I immediately dispel the myth that only some people can play guitar by ear, and show you how a newborn baby and an orchestra conductor will hear music the exact same way… but will interpret it differently. THAT is the key to this whole course!
I then show you a small set of extremely powerful yet easy to use tools that will allow you to take what you've heard and find it on the fretboard with ease(a skill that will continue to get better with use).
Then, after learning some very basic music theory patterns, I show you how to find the tonal center/tonic of a song and use the same rules to determine the chords for 10 popular songs.
By the end of this step-by-step, easy-to-follow course, you will not only know how to play 10 new songs, but more importantly, you will be able to bring this skill to every song you desire, making you an unstoppable musician.
Jump in right now and let me show you how dead simple playing guitar by ear actually is!
Prepare to amaze yourself!

Moving pretty quickly. Couldn't locate the link to the first song "Lose You Tonight". A little frustrated at this point.

To be honest as a mostly play for fun and for myself kind of musician I've always seen this 'learning songs by ear' skill as something pretty far out of my reach, it's (was) kind of illogical and at the very start of this course it helped me shifting (discarding) this lens and seeing this more clearly as it simply is. That said, it has always been kind of my peak ambition to be able to do this and I'm totally satisfied with the methodology and the way things are explained. Great Course, thanks a lot.

Once you get past the initial blah blah blah this class is fun. I'm taking ear training, and it is a difficult slog. This class, on the other hand, requires no discipline.

Thank you Erich! This course has helped me tune my ears up and taken my guitar playing to the next level. Until now I have never been able to hear a solo and then find the melody on the neck by myself. You have a great way with explaining how things work musically and the exercises are so incredibly practical in helping me master the techniques.

Best Online Course I have ever purchased as it's straight to the point and not boring at all. I feel that it brings content in for all levels. The way the information is delivered grabs my attention and I feel excited to learn and complete the course. The best thing is after just doing 5 lessons, I had already started picking up new skills and information. I was able to get my Guitar playing sounding better as well from the demonstration of basic melodies and although it's not my pick of songs to learn on Guitar. I was able to learn and play Happy Birthday and have it sound fantastic and the music was way more connected. The way it was taught was helpful as it was straight forward in that the way to play it was easy to understand and implement it. I have never felt so much hope in my playing as for ages I have always struggled with getting scales and music in general on the Guitar to sound more musical. As in the past my playing is good but not great. I have always wanted to be able to understand how to get it sounding more musical and more connected, more flowing to allow it to just come easy. I feel this course has been and will continue to be a great success to me. I feel everyone should buy this course as it honestly has changed my life in just a few videos. I am now almost half way through the course and still am learning. It has been worth every $$$. Excellent Value for money and when you see unbelievable results and fast results in not just your playing but your full understanding of how music works, then this means that the course has paid for itself. I would rate this course hands down the full 5 stars.

When you stop and think about it, the theoretical concepts covered are so obvious, but the way they are demonstrated practically in this course makes them extremely useful and easy to apply. Thanks for delivering such an engaging, hands-on approach.

On the lesson about the 1, 4, 5 pattern, I want to know how you are counting the numbers? Why does the 1 start on the G string on the first fret instead of the F string?
By Kovács Péter on 6/13/2023
I took a similar course with Bass, but it did not work well, I like this course, and I wil use my 12 String guitar, it helps to hear better the pitches, and it sounds nice anyway. Thanks / T Hanks / ThanQ for this course! :)

So far it is refreshing what I already am familiar with. For a newbie, if Eric explained what scale degrees mean, and how to find them, it would mean a lot to those who don't know (I do). For instance what is a 3rd or a 5th? A 3rd is 4 frets from the root. The 5th is 7 frets. Like that.
