QML for Beginners (Udemy.com)

Course is really good so far! QT Creator doesn't quite work the same way as before with the integrated designer tool. It appears you can't directly edit regular QML files with the QML designer. You must use ui.qml files instead.

Very professionally designed course, lots of material. Going over the course in a very detailed way, showing all the steps to follow along and recreate the shown steps. Sadly only the Beginners course exists so far. Very good choice for beginners in QML. I've learned a lot.

The course content is outdated, especially considering that the open-source Qt version is now 6 or higher. The project templates have been optimized for CMake, the recommended build system in Qt6, while the course still uses qmake. Though the course introduces many important concepts, it lacks the depth necessary to fully explain them.

I finished this course, but I lost interest halfway through. I was forced to skim through the Qt Quick section because it wasn't very interesting and it was very repetitive (starting from scratch everytime). A more engaging approach to this chapter would have been if instead we would build a complete interface while using most of the controls (something similar to the Car board QML sample). Most of the samples were not very engaging. The last video: Text Editor with C++ is why I came to this course. I think that if the rest of the examples were as complete as that one, the course would have been much more interesting.

Bryan explains every concept very clearly, and he also gives you guidance on how you can find out more about it. Watching his videos along with reading the documentation and doing your own projects will accelerate your learning by a lot. Getting this and other of his courses is some of the best money I've ever spent.

Excellent course. I really appreciated covering some things that were not strictly beginner. I've been looking into some of the C++/QML interactions and this helped solidify things for me. Those who have not seen it will be confused but it does give them an exposure and the next time they see it things will make more sense. Keep it up.

Ok, I don't give 5 stars very often. But in this course I found everything to achieve my students-project and beyond! It's not the first course I took from Bryan and I really enjoyed each one. I was a bit scared - coming from Qt6 (Intermediate) and I thought there were some pitfalls. But nope. You can take this course and IF there are some adjustments, Qt tells you so. After all, there are some strange bugs regarding the Designer-Part, but since I'm more the Editor kind of guy (which is pretty similar to web-dev) it's absolutely ok and you can easily follow along. Happy to take the next course, Bryan!

Excellent Beginner course! At times a bit too basic for my taste, but overall simply great!

The Bob Ross of programming ;-) This course was very useful, also as a non-beginner. Going through all the basics in these small steps has given me some inspiration. Often there is additional information, that can not be found easily in the official QML documentation, but needs to be learned by trial and error. So, even with the slower beginner pace, the course is quite worth taking.
