Course Description
This is an advanced course that covers design patterns using Qt 5 and C++. It is strongly advised you do not attempt this course until you have completed all the prerequisites -see my other courses on Udemy if you need a refresher.
Awarded Content Creator in the 2020 Qt Champion Awards:
"Bryan has a few courses available on Udmey, specifically his course on Qt 5 Design Patterns and also has a popular group on Facebook which helps others with their Qt questions as well. For his work alone in creating the Qt 5 training course online for everyone to benefit from it was easy to make him our year's Content Creator."
In software engineering, a design pattern is a general repeatable solution to a commonly occurring problem in software design - a design pattern is not a finished application but rather a tool the developer can use across any software framework. Design patterns can speed up the development process by providing tested, proven development paradigms. Effective software design requires considering issues that may not become visible until later in the implementation. Reusing design patterns helps to prevent subtle issues that can cause major problems and improves code readability for coders and architects familiar with the patterns.
The goal of this course is to teach the student how to use design patterns in Qt 5 with C++ along with an understanding of issues specific to Qt 5. We will use a wide range of Qt technologies from Widgets, QML, sockets, server, threading, io, streams, processes, and the State Machine Framework. This course will cover traditional design patterns along with looking at common problems and solutions specific for Qt 5.
These videos are filmed live and unedited, the student will see every single step, mistake and correction - the result is the same as if sitting in a classroom watching in real time.

Arranque este curso para aprender un poco mas sobre patrones de diseño de software, y además de aprender eso, aprendí mucho mas sobre QT. Muy recomendable.

Perfect, examples are easy to understand and the teacher takes its time to well write and explain what he does. Sometimes, there are experience return on precise points whar is very useful and to finish, in a context which can be sometimes too serious, I find him very pleasant to listen.

Amazing course! Brian is an excellent tutor and also a good narrator. I've put 4.5 stars. Minus half of a star for oversimplifying GOF patterns. Most of them indeed looks outdated in Qt kingdom but still it might create wrong impression for those who just step into programming in general.

The course seems to be very comprehensive and covers each design patterns. But a lot of contents are still very shallow and instructor didn't dig into deeper. Some design patterns instructor taught does not really reveal their essential usage. And each design pattern really should be taught along with projects. Teaching them just by giving small piece of code examples are not sufficient to really understand and use them correctly. Designed patterns are the smart solutions which came up with from the real world projects and applications in the past. Best learn from it is using project as example.

This course is very interesting, I learned a lot of tricks to improve my conception of an application with Qt. I absolutely recommend this course to all C++ developer that using Qt and having a bit of knowledge and experiences with it. Thank you very much Bryan for your work and pedagogy.

The coverage is very good, each example is focused on the specific subject and has notes for future reference

Bryan is awesome, I enrolled in all his Qt/QML classes. Learning tons of Qt and C++ stuffs in a fun and systematic way. Hope he will start an advanced C++ classes series

The way he teaches is very easy to understand. I really got the most important skills from his courses.

This course is an absolute blast. Granted, one should first: 1. Do some programming on his own 2. Create unmaintainable, hard to follow code Only after that will you start to understand what sort of solutions this course seeks to teach you.

Brian is the best ! Love the material. This is the most useful Qt Training that I ever came across.
