Qt 6 Core Intermediate with C++ (Udemy.com)

Covered tons of topics and they were all useful. None were as hands-on as I would like, which may be for the later QWidget course. Still, it handled the fundamentals well and I'm grateful for the breadth of information transferred. I preferred the beginners course slightly-more, because it covered all topics in-depth with less redundancy. This course ramped up the content later in the course with many copy-pasted code, so any lecture longer than 10 minutes was realistically 40+ min when having to follow and code along.

The most interesting chapter for me was "Basic Threading", and I appreciated the demonstration approach used. However, based on my understanding from the course, I think comparing async and thread is not the best way to explain them, as they are fundamentally concepts on different levels of abstraction. Additionally, during the course, the lecturer emphasized that "threads are non-blocking." It would be more accurate to say that "threads are independent—one thread will not block another (if the setting is appropriate)."

On 2x it's some great courses as refreshers after 8 years of no Qt Development, but i think a little part of me dies every time the instructor says refractor instead of refactor ;-) I think it would also be a great series for new developers to start with.

Very structured, moderately paced. I am really pleased. Two things I am struggling with: 1. It is definetly no good idea to return a QStringView from a function which references a QString local to that function. That is going to be undefined behaviour. 2. The version of QTextStreams and QDataStreams is imho not persisted in the file. I could not reproduce the examples using Qt 6.7.2. The examples happended to work in the videos bc. the version defaults to the latest which were being used both in the write and read functions. But the docs say different: you have to manually stream.setVersion(myVersion) in both write and read streams.

Very well constructed course. Excellent choice of subjects. Clearly exposed, not too difficult but very informative. The introductory lesson on QObject was a life saver for those me, who skipped the beginners course being well versed in C++. It set the stage for what was to come. Without it I might not have grasped much of the course. Looking forward to the advanced course.

El curso esta bien, te muestra utilidades de QT y su funcionamiento básico. Para mi que ya tenia experiencia en QT me ha servido para ver nuevas clases y formas de resolver problemas. De hecho ya estoy usando conceptos aprendidos en los proyectos de mi empresa. Lo único que no me ha convencido ha sido los momentos que se hacen mucho copy paste, a mi me gusta replicar el código en tiempo real, pero eso ya son preferencias. A veces hay algunas explicaciones un poco escasas para mi gusto, entiendo que es así para que el curso no sea larguísimo. De todas formas muy recomendable. He hecho esta evaluación cuando iba ya por el último apartado.

The course was great. I skipped the beginner one because I already knew C++ and it was still easy to follow with the recap at the beginning. The video length was good. Even if you didn't really feel like doing the course, you can just do a 4 minutes video and do the rest later. I always ended up doing a whole section then because "just 5 more minutes". The assignments were similar. They are so simple that you really don't need much time but at least you typed it out yourself once. However, I feel like a more complex task would enhance the course. One or two bigger optional assignments where you could combine a few things would be great.

Having done the Beginner's course, I followed up with this Intermediate course. I continue to really love the way Bryan presents everything so clearly and to the point. Type along to get the "code in the fingers". Highly recommended!

I learned a lot from this course. Knowledge that is potentially useful in my career. Bryan talks to you like a programmer in this one. A lot of topics were discussed (I hope new contents will be added: other qt core classes maybe). Feels more refined than the beginner's. I am more happy with my purchase of this course than the beginner's. What I didn't like: - Refresher made the Beginner's Course USELESS. I suggest transfer the Qt parts of that to here, then change that course into "C++ for Qt: A Preparatory Course" - NO project(s). PLEASE add project(s). Use Learn By Doing kind of teaching. This will solidify our knowledge even more (if that is what's important to you than the money you get). There was a part in the course where even Bryan himself had fun sidetracked and not following the "script". - Assignment Feedback could be better if we are discussing code logic rather than theories. Code logic means you really understand the theory anyways.

The course is very comprehensive and the instructor is very knowledgeable on the subject. Maybe there are things that in Windows do not work the same as in Linux but in general everything is very satisfactory.
