Course Description

Songwritingcan be a lot of fun when you understand how chords work.

Especially if you've been using the same chords over and over again and want to write something fresh!

In this course, I show you how professional songwriters put together chords when songwriting. There are certain rules they follow. Once you understand the rules you can choose to use or break them.

We'll use real life example to demonstrate how the 6 most used chords in popular music work and work together.

Every lecture builds on the next lecture and is easy to follow. By the end you should be able to take a song concept, and start building chord progressions that make sense.

The information delivered through a computer screen was informative and watchable. The first four videos of the tutor at a piano keyboard were frustratingly jerky and periodically stopped and started. There is nothing wrong with my device or Internet connection as it has been used to watch many other course videos from different tutors without issue and it has been checked.
I did contact the tutor about this issue and also asked if the second course in this series had a lot of piano video footage. I was told that the fault was not at his end, but the question about the second course was not answered.

Been playing keyboards for years with a few lessons. Have no idea what the I, iii, V, etc. mean. Could we put some keys to those chords? Instructor went very fast, and I guess assumes we all know what he's talking about.

Good teacher - clear, calm, and considered communicator.
What this is a a chord hackathon for people new to popular music, and that's what I was looking for as a classical musician new to the genre
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it can be frustrating not to hear the full theory explained (understand it's about wider accessibility) but still irksome.
Small spelling mistake in Section 4 heading: Effects is Affects (trying to be helpful).
