The Complete Piano & Music Theory Beginners Course (Udemy.com)

This Course gave me some initial idea on how to learn and play a piano as I do not have any idea or knowledge in playing piano. But I personally feel some of the lectures are too fast and could be better if we can get more explanation over there.. I felt like that because as a beginner even I watch it more times, I still didn't get clarity over there. For example you said something to start from in scales lecture, but while you are playing you are starting from a point and playing back to the same point again which is not mentioned properly in lecture. Any way as this is a short course may be that was right content for the course. Overall I feel happy and feeling like learned something about the piano. Thanks to the creator.

Looks like he is in a hurry Where is the fire I guess? After the Circle of 5ths he is just vomiting information, feels so disassociated. Given the tutor knows everything and is probably able to understand whats spewing out of his mouth, but for novices he makes it very hard to understand the concepts. I had to pause or rerun the videos several times and even google stuff to understand what he is saying. 2.5 stars for effort only. Should have explained slower and used more examples.

I've been trying/wanting/meaning to learn piano for 10+ years and this is the first instruction I've ever received that has honestly made sense and stuck with me. Rob is a fantastic teacher who manages to convey all of the basics of piano and music theory in a way that is engaging, enjoyable, and logical. I really can't recommend this course highly enough.

A bit too fast for a beginner. Shouldn’t title the course for beginners if you’re going to go that fast. Obviously you’re very knowledgeable, and I got a good bit out of the course, but I’m going to go back into Udemy now and see if I can find a piano course that is much slower with the fundamentals of explaining the keyboard, and actually suited for true beginners. Also, I wished you would have shown the whole keyboard in the course, rather then just a limited view, without showing the ends of the keyboard, had no idea where exactly you were on the keyboard, being a true beginner like I am. Also, I often couldn’t tell what keys you were actually pressing with the overhead view you presented. It’s like you ought to somehow color code the keys you are striking, or something, in order to illustrate what keys you’re actually striking. Thanks for listening. Keep up the good work.

I think if I was an absolute beginner, I would have had a hard time understanding this course but because I had prior experience, I was able to pick up on the concepts quickly. I liked the instruction overall. I learned more info and more quickly than all my years of previous piano training. I would recommend this course to those that have prior piano knowledge but not absolute beginners.

I mean outstanding! I appreciate a lot of the youtube videos that people took their time to make to help others but you can easily get overwhelmed because of so much different techniques and different skill levels. I rarely rate anything but this course kept it so fundamental and simple. I would recommend this to anyone who has no clue about a piano because it will teach beginners. I have got a solid understanding on the basics now and so excited to move on to the next course. Will definitely buy the rest of his courses. Thanks so much this helped a ton!

At first, I'm hesitant to get this beginners course because of the basic knowledge I already had in music but no regrets. There's so much information in this course and there are different tricks. I've learned a lot! After completing the course and before the learn fest ends I bought the other 7 courses. Looking forward to learn more. Thanks Rob! You're a good musician and a teacher.

Great course. Smart, concise, to-the-point, and extremely well organized. I loved your pace, Rob. Thank you for not slowing down and 'dumbing' it down! I really enjoyed that. One recommendation though (for the very last section where you talk about your other courses), I personally had difficulty differentiating between them and although it sparked my interest (and I'm definitely going to check them out) I didn't quite get which is what. That's the only thing, so you did a pretty amazing job! Thank you for putting this course together.

Before taking this course I worked through a beginner's adult training manual three times over the course of a year to solidify the concepts and feel more comfortable with the keyboard. If I had had access to this course I would have achieved the same result in half the time. Rob provides all of the fundamentals of music theory with practical tips to apply them to your playing.

I've searched of different websites, looked at tons of different youtube videos, and even books where I can have a visual aids as well as a good teacher. I randomly found RW Studio. I can sense the thought, time, preparation, and care that goes into each video. He definiteally has the gift of teaching, which not everyone has. RW Studio asks himself the right question, "If I were a student, what would I want in a video lesson?" His videos have the perfect camera angle and brilliant ordered lessons. Thank you RW Studio!
