Songwriting is fun when you understand chords!

In this course we are going to go beyond the 6 chords and start understanding advanced songwriting technique.

When Isay beyond the 6 chords, I don't mean 6 more chords. We are going to be studying tons and tons of chords in this course.

This goes way beyond the 1st course in this series.

We will go over multiple chord concepts with real examples showing how they are implemented. We will be breaking down songs and I'll be showing you how professional songwriters useadvanced chord concepts.

You should take this course if you have an interest in how songs are created and if you're interested in songwriting.

I hope tosee you on the inside!

Examples and the teaching is great. Though I felt that there are more easier ways to explain modes to someone who's just getting into music theory. But the rest of it is spot on.

An excellent explanation of some more advance theory with lots of easy to understand examples from real pop songs.

I've had a few music lessons and have been making beats for quite a long time. These courses get right to the heart of songwriting without having to understand overly complicated music theory. They have imporved my songwriting by more than just one level.

This is a great course and the teacher explains difficult concepts with great clarity
I continue to be a little bemused by "what it is" which is why I haven't given it a 5. In this second series the teacher really ramps up the music theory (something I was looking for in part 1 so great to see). There are still "how to use" (chord hacks) offered, but theory dominates (where chord hacks dominated part 1).
I'm definitely going to keep going because as I say it's an excellent course, but as a classical musician who knows the theory I'm not sure whether the pedagogical balance is quite right for me. But this is not personalized tuition - and in the aggregate, as I say, this is an excellent offering by someone intent (and taking the time) to explain difficult/new concepts as simply as possible. Highly recommended; just be clear what you're here for.

The musicians inspired Classes are amazing overall and I think you can learn a lot from them!
I think this class seemed a little "one take-ish" and could have been prepared a bit better! By "one take-ish" I mean it seems like he recorded each class once without really preparing the whole thing very precisely.
As a result he makes minor mistakes like for example accidentally calling the primary dominant a secondary dominant (in the "what is a secondary dominant?" chapter) which isn't a big deal but confused me a bit at first!
There are little mistakes like that throughout the course which is why I only give this course 4 out of 5 stars! But he teaches the overall concepts very well and I learned a lot!
Him jumping right into the class seems to work for song science 1 as the topics aren't that advanced, but in song science 2 the result is a sloppiness which wouldn't be necessary!
Overall I still think Rob is an amazing teacher! He can relate to the students very well and is very knowledgable and straight to the point! His classes are the best music theory classes I have found so far! I will definitely buy song science 3!
To Rob I hope you read this and consider my point for future classes! Thank you very much and all the best from Vienna!

Another great course. Got a little in-the-weeds for what I was looking for personally towards the end, but I appreciate that it covered as much as it did. Song Science 1 was great, and will continue to take these courses, they are incredibly helpful.
