Sound Design for Music Composition (Udemy.com)

Some of the sound examples are awful, like the riser. I know how to make bad sounds, I was hoping to learn how to make good ones. It would be nice to have examples for the sounds before we get into making them. I don’t know what “dark pulses” are or where I would use them, why they’re different from plucks, or how to fit them into a track

I have a decent understanding of how the sounds are created but I always struggled to accomplish many changes to warp my patches. This lesson has taught me to better understand and know what each parameter does. Seeing the examples first hand really helps drive the knowledge home.

This course is detailed and hands on! Not only do you learn the principles which come together to create each sound effect, you will also be set up to start experimenting to create your own with the template format Mike uses. Great course - a no brainer for anybody interested in sound design.

Very concise and informative. The numbered tip list in each video gives step by step guidance when trying out your own sound design, which I really appreciated. I will definitely refer back to this course, as it covers so much that can form the basis of any project. Thank you!

After taking a break from making music for a few years this course was well worth the price of admission to get back acquainted with sound design. It gave me a lot of new ideas on how to take my productions to the next level.

Since Mike uses omnisphere to create many of the sounds in this course, if you own omnisphere, take his course on that software before taking this course. That will really aid in your ability to replicate the patches that he creates.

I haven't finished the course yet, so it's early review. But.. I have already learnt so much. Exactly what I needed to understand the knobs and sliders of different plugins. What a great course so far! Thanks, Mike!
