Course Description
Go beyond tutorials. Build a real Symfony application from the ground up.
Symfony is one of the most powerful and flexible PHP frameworks in the world — used by companies like Spotify, BlaBlaCar, and Trivago. In this hands-on course, you’ll master Symfony with modern PHP 8 by building a Twitter-inspired social media platform that’s fully functional, deployable, and portfolio-ready.
We start from zero — setting up your environment and walking through Symfony’s structure — and quickly move to building real features:
Routing & Controllers for clean, organized code
Twig Templates for dynamic, reusable user interfaces
Doctrine ORM for efficient database handling
Tailwind CSS for beautiful, responsive styling
User Authentication & Security with Symfony best practices
Dependency Injection for scalable, maintainable code
Interactive features like likes, follows, and user profiles
You’ll gain production-ready skills while creating a project you can actually show to employers or clients. This is not a set of disconnected code snippets — it’s a full application, built step-by-step, with clear explanations for every concept.
Who’s this for?
PHP developers ready to master Symfony
Full-stack devs looking to strengthen backend skills
Anyone with basic PHP knowledge wanting to build real-world apps
By the end, you’ll have mastered the Symfony workflow from setup to deployment — and have a social web app to prove it.

This courses is amazing in general. It shows exactly how to build and use symfony features. It would be much better if tutor has used services and make it decoupled from Controllers. Many things are not covered like how to design decoupled services ourselves, how to use events, how and when to use commands and of course some examples for how to make organize code for Unit tests.

This is a really nice course. I learned a lot and found it very well structured and clearly explained. It’s simple and easy to follow, especially for beginner developers who already have some PHP knowledge. The instructor explains concepts very well and speaks clearly, which makes the learning experience enjoyable. I truly learned a lot from this course. The only thing I feel is missing and it’s an important one, is deployment. It would be great to have an additional section showing how to deploy the project and turn it into a real-world application. Overall, a perfect course. Bravo

Dear Piotr I really enjoyed this journey with you. My background is Master of Science in Electrical engineering with loads of experience in embedded systems development e.g. Industrial Robots (ABB), Video streaming boxes (Motorola) Missiles (SAAB/Bofors) etc. I have many years of experience in data base development. I have eary on (1980) started to use Object Orinted paradigms so I knew the relational and object oriented view and their clashes. Your pratical and instructive mixture of principles and examples are just very purposefullly leading to the goal. Your calmness and wonderfull Polish english adds an extra spice . Thanks a million/ John Edeus

Hello, this course was really great, I was able to learn it easily even with my basic level php knowledge before, the course instructor is really great to explain the subject in a very nice and simple way and share important notes and resources at the end of the lesson, it is the only course I can really recommend to those who want to take this course, thank you very much Piotr Juara ❤️

I really liked this course. Many areas that I didn't know about Symfony were covered more than satisfactorily. However, there are still a few small tasks here and there that weren't covered but I would have liked to have been explained. Dealing with roles could have gone a little deeper and been applied to the app. As a concrete example, I'll mention the role "ROLE_COMMENTER". You need this role to be able to comment on individual posts. But we haven't set up an option in the app so that users can do that. It was only done in one example via the admin because it was needed THERE. Another topic that is very important to me is the admin story. I'm missing a complete section about a dashboard where you can, for example, activate or block users or assign rights and roles. The part about verifying the account was also a little short, as there is no way to initiate the verification again (it was only activated for an hour and was also taken over internally by Symfony). But there are also many good things that you can learn from the course yourself: how to use the avatar is one example. All in all, a very successful course that can be supplemented or corrected here and there. I started this course using Symfony 7.1 as the current version and I worked through the course with this version and partly worked out the things that don't fit the course by studying the documentation myself. Fortunately, there were very few of these, so other course participants can also devote themselves to this course, even if further version jumps of Symfony have been released. Long story short: very good course!!! (Translated with Google Translate)

Good: Great English/American, almost impossible to notice that the instructor is not a native English/American speaker. It would be nice to get the course if you have some Symfony basics and have knowledge how the framework works, to get more practice and better view of how it really works. Bad: Hard to start learning without a previous knowledge of Symfony. Explanations should be better and should not be shortened in the last chapter and also should have some examples.

I would not recommend taking this course if you have only basic PHP knowledge. It's very confusing in some parts, speaking of instructor showing everyhing way too fast, scrolling, changing files(tabs), only setting a playback rate on low can help out, otherwise I have to roll back the video 100 times. + too much zoomed in, font so big that I get lost very often. A lot of effort was put in this course, thanks for that, but unfortunately not very well made.

Good course. I am a junior-mid level dev, so i have a bit of experience as a developer and find this easy to follow along to. However, i see that if you're an absolute beginner this might be tricky to follow in certain parts. As others have mentioned, the app could use some frontend tooling (Webpack), as this seems to be the current industry standard. I don't like the way in which the material is delivered - there doesn't feel like much structure to the course, one minute we're playing around with symfony the next we're building a full stack application. Whereas with other courses the instructors tell you how to go about building such an app from scratch with a clean project - i feel this would be less confusing. Also i feel that certain parts (twig embed) could be explained better.

Positive: - in general is well organized - Since i am a beginner a learn a lot - section related to Databases and Doctrine was great - section 13 has great explanation Negative: - missing talk about CSRF token - missing implementation of CSRF Token in all formsm - Could talk more about twig like filters - the excess of Div tag use, should be using more semantic html tags What i would like to see in to see: - section front-end related by using encore ( https://symfony.com/doc/current/frontend/encore/installation.html) - section about testing - Fixing the negatives that i and others mention. Overall is a nice and organized course, then 4 stars

I am very happy to follow this course, in each chapter I discover new things, I am very impatient and above all very experienced to finish the wonderful and very instructive, educational project and which facilitates my understanding of symfony, sincerely no text that I I won't be able to explain to you how happy I am because I finally discovered a training that I wanted, I thank you very much for this majestic and completely complete and incomparable course and project compared to other courses on udemy.
