Tableau Exam Prep: Desktop Foundations + Data Analyst (Udemy.com)

After 6 years of using the tool, I decided to sign up for the Certified Tableau Data Analyst exam. While I am pretty comfortable with the tools (Desktop, Server, and Prep), I figured I could use a refresher course to revisit some overlooked features (e.g. mapping). I came across this course and figured I would give it a shot. Dustin did a fantastic job covering the exam and all the things you need to study to pass. His content was easy to follow along (even at 2x speed). My favorite part of the course are the practice exams-- they helped me prepare immensely for the exam. Highly recommend it to other aspiring certified data analysts.

I just passed my desktop specialist certification test yesterday, so i feel like i am qualified to write a review. Its a very good course explaining the functions of tableau and Dustin responded to every question i had promptly. Thank you for the responses! However, i feel like there are some points that could be improved 1. Some explanations require more visuals, not just verbal. It's hard to visualize what you are talking about 2. The practice exams are NOT enough to pass the exam. They are too easy and straightforward, and need multiple answer questions format. I got 90% when i took your test and it gave me confidence.. But I was suspicious, and took another practice exam course (Another instructor) 2 days before the exam, and i was shocked by how tricky and difficult it was and got only 65%. I studied my ass off for the last 2 days and passed with a scored of 880... The exam questions were much more tricky, difficult and had multiple answers, and much more theoritical.. You have to read the tableau manual A LOT. I believe the practice exam is dangerous because it makes us over-confidence and under-prepared. Best luck to you!

Dustin is amazing, explains everything very well, tries to share all his knowledge. I am experienced with Tableau Desktop and took this course as a preparation to the exam. The course gives a complete understanding and introduction to Tableau Desktop, however I wish Dustin could give some tips about exam questions, tricky parts, where to focus etc...But overall it is great! I passed the Tableau Certified Data Analyst exam yesterday in my first attempt. The certification exam was not easy and took me full two hours to complete. Thank you, Dustin, for explaining the materials so well! And I highly recommend this course for everyone who wants to get certified.

Although I have some working knowledge in Tableau I found this course to be very useful. I was able to pick up few new tips and tricks!!! Dustin has covered all the topics that are required from a Tableau certification point of view in a very detailed and clear manner. I would definitely recommend this course for anyone who want to brush up their Tableau skills or are planning to take up Tableau Certification (Desktop Specialist and Data Analyst). I can't wait to complete this course.

I would strongly recommend this course. However, after taking several other similar courses and taking the Tableau Desktop Specialist exam, the course by itself may not be sufficient to pass the exam. The practice exams are excellent in that Dustin provides a lot of lab-style exam questions to prepare you for the Data Analyst exam. He gives you a Tableau workbook for your answers and a solution guide in both video format and a completed answer workbook. Dustin does a better job than others w.r.t. providing Tableau Server/Prep training. I also purchased his Tableau Prep & Advanced Tableau courses....

The content is very good and the examples and sample data are a great substitute for realistic corporate problems. I actually did feel compelled to dig a little deeper after many sections and see what insights I could uncover. If you're looking for a good exam prep, this seems to get the job done. In several cases, you'll be following along and then be instructed to rename something or enter a new value - and suddenly find the value appear on the screen (instead of being typed) and the lesson quickly continues on. It seems the instructor is copying and pasting. I found this approach frustrating at times, because you may have to repeatedly rewind a video to "catch up" to his pace. To avoid disrupting the flow, it would have been better to show exactly what steps were necessary to reproduce each example, click by click, key by key. Forgivable - because of the grade "A" content - but definitely something that should be improved for future videos, in my strong opinion.

I'm a Tableau newbie so I needed all the help I can get to prep for the Cert Exam. I've taken 3 different Tableau Cert courses on Udemy - just trying to find the one that clicked for me. The Maven course is the last in my journey and although I'm more familiar with the subject matter after all that repetition I am able to single out what made this course better than the others. Not only did this course address the objectives of the Exam but the "to the point" walk-thru Tableau demo was exceptional. The PDF for reviewing before the exam was very helpful. Finally, the quizzes and Practice Exam was the icing on the cake. I finally feel confident to sit the exam.

I am someone who has used Tableau a long time and just wanted a refresher before I took the Data Analyst exam (took the beta test today), and for that purpose, it was fine. I like the instructor and the pace. Sometimes he goes a little fast, but I actually prefer that. I can pause/go back if needed. I deducted a star and a half just because it doesn't cover everything on the Data Analyst exam. My guess is that he built this for the associates exam and then tried to quickly adapt it for the Data Analyst exam, but the Data Analyst exam also covers server and tableau prep and a few other things he does not cover in here. So you'll want to supplement this with Tableau eLearning or at least studying the knowledge base.

This is a nice refresher not too long and pretty comprehensive for anyone who already knows tableau and really looking to tackle the exam, however the practice exam is not that challenging as it serve the purpose of jogging your memory although I wish the exam practice to be up to the level of CA, to anyone who consider to get this, note that, this is great for a quick concept reminder and it is totally recommended.
