The Complete Affinity Designer for iPad Course (Udemy.com)

Loved this course. Pros: There is a lot, very thorough. Helpful for hands on learning. Con: Because they have done such a great job at offering so much… lol It can sometimes take more time for them to upgrade. So a lot of the lessons I had to figure out where some commands and tools were cause it was outdated. Pro: They do get to updating it when they can. So if you have the extra time to hang on if outdated, then no worries. There is a lot offered in this course. Enjoy! And thank you for the course.

Beginner here so learning the basics - I'm on V2 and managing to follow along so far. Took me a while to get the layers to move but finally realised that I have to hold down on the layer to get it to move - might be worth mentioning in the videos or perhaps I missed the instruction. Great so far and enjoying the pace as I can work along and keep up. Thank you

As a beginner I would appreciate a little more detail in your instructions. Instead of saying now go to whatever, pointing out where you are going on the screen would help us "slow learners" Hopefully that makes sense.

This is a good foundation class and it's exactly what I needed. The content is broad enough and the exercises are helpful. I also like the following course structure: - The lessons are delivered in small spurts which is handy for online study. They can be fitted into my schedule more conveniently. - The topics are progressive. That makes the studying process smooth. - I like the peer-review feature for the exercises. I personally feel one can learn a lot from other people's work. I also get inspiration from them. Here are a couple of things that I think can be improved: - There's no pointer prompt on the video. While sometimes it's easy to find out where "here" is, sometimes it's not. I think either a prompter or verbal cue such as "here on the right..." can be helpful. There's a big green animated arrow that appears sometimes, which is really helpful, but there are a lot more moments when I was taken out of my focus to find out where that "here" is. - It'd be helpful to give some examples during the introduction for the exercises. I have to skip forward the submission page that follows directly after the introduction to watch the instructor's demo of the exercise or even the further peer-review page to find out what I'm supposed to do, before returning to the submission page. All in all, I'm very happy about this course. The UI is effective and delivery great. This is my first course at Udemy and I got the feeling that it sets a good standard for my expectation for future courses.

It's a great match though I'm somewhere between beginner and intermediate so it can take a little patience hearing what vector art is vs pixel. and so forth. :) One thing I wish was happening: a consistent blue dot showing where the instructor is tapping on the iPad.. please include that every time. I spend a lot of time stopping the video to see what was highlighted by his moves (or just guessing lol) it can be very distracting and I feel I'm missing information. There is obviously so much to learn that in truth probably needs to be discovered and then researched as needed, but I appreciate the course breaking the ice on such a dense program and really de-mystifying so much of it. Cheers!

Definitely better to view the lesson on a separate device allowing one to work along with the lesson. Frustrating when skills/tools being taught do not work the same way on my device (trouble with snapping, vector pen, layer position adjustment, and more). Much time spent problem solving and figuring out a work around. Would be great to know how to reset to "factory defaults" to ensure undo any changes I may have made unknowingly. Overall, an excellent course. I will be looking for a more advanced course - hoping to be able to continue with this platform in school rather than have to switch to photoshop, which the school supports.

Absolutely brilliant course. Loved every minute of it and Jeremy is an excellent tutor. He makes the lessons interesting and as they are interactive, they are never boring! With some courses, you get tired of hearing the tutors voice, but not with Jeremy's. He makes learning fun and I would highly recommend this course to everyone looking to learn more about Affinity Designer. I can't wait for my next course! Alison, Staffordshire, UK.

This course is great. I used another AD iPad course that didn’t explain a lot of things and I was left struggling. Here it’s been explained step by step in a really clear way that I’m having no issue with. It’s already solved several problems I couldn’t figure out before. I also like the teacher- he moves at as good pace and he’s engaging Do the assignment as you go. I ran into confusion with one or two things I thought I got- re-watched something and then I really came to understand what I’d missed

This class has a lot of good content. The instructor is energetic and obviously enjoys showing these techniques. The only feedback I have that could make the class better is, I feel at times he has a condescending tone. On more than one occasion I was told how confused I must be and/or how my mind must be blown, which neither were true. I've used photoshop/illustrator for years and many things carry over. I just wanted to know the ins and outs of Affinity Designer. The other thing I would suggest after watching some of the lessons on an iPad, is leaving out the "key point" column (which I didn't use much) so the program screen will be larger. It's hard to see the small icons - this too would be helpful. I did learn how to use the program which was my goal in watching the class - thank you!

This is a good course. I consider it well worth the price I paid and the time spent. I am very much a beginner. Turning on show touches in Affinity Designer would take this course from a 3.0 to 4.0/4.5. That was really my only dislike was being unable to tell exactly where taps were and having to backtrack to figure it out. Well that, and there was one place where the work was changed between lectures. All in all a good course and good instructor.
