Course Description
Looking for an easy to use todo list manager that will actually help you to complete the things on your todo list? Try Trello!
Trello is a free online task manager that can be accessed using any web browser (or IOS and Android apps). It supports simplified todo list management through a drag & drop interface. It's based on the Kanban method of project management adopted in the early 1940s to control automotive production at Toyota.
Looking for an easy to use project manager that will allow you to work in teams?
Trello is a fully collaborative software tool that allows groups of people to work on shared projects moving tasks from concept through completion.
Looking for sophisticated task management that will allow you to manage large teams of people working toward a common goal?
Trello allows you to fully document each task in a project while also tracking estimated time against time actually spent.
So, how does Trello differ from any other todo list or task manager?
Trello allows you to organize multiple projects into separate Boards. People can be invited to work together on boards granting different administrative privileges to each person. Each Trello Board is composed of multiple Lists with each list being associated with a phase of the project. For example, your lists might include:
Todo - All tasks anyone can think of to work on.
Selected - The tasks selected for this project.
Working On - Tasks currently being worked on.
On Hold - Tasks that are awaiting something.
Completed - Completed Tasks
Rejected - Rejected Tasks
Cards are added to a Board to represent individual tasks. Cards are moved from one List to the next to represent advancement through the phases of project development from initial concept all the way to completion.
Initially developed to track software development projects, I will be showing you how to use Trello to track everything from Udemy course development to organizing a party
Trello is free. Trello is easy to use. Trello is intuitive. Trello is powerful. Trello will store your project data safely online and make it available on all your devices. Trello can be used to manage collaborative efforts.

Brian Jackson
Hello,
My name is Brian Jackson. I'm the author of about a dozen books, the publisher of well over 100 books, and a Udemy instructor with over 40 courses.
This is my story...
1 Origins
I was born in the middle of the last century in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from Humboldt State University, surrounded by the redwoods of Northern California. After 14 years at Lockheed Missiles and Space as an IBM system programmer and 12 years at Cisco Systems as a test engineer, I retired at 48.
I instantly became bored.
2 Community College
To break the boredom, I enrolled at Columbia Community College to take writing, art, acting and statistics classes. I took 24 units over one year and received straight “A”s.
I was still bored.
3 Writing and Self-publishing
I began writing fiction and nonfiction books and self-publishing them on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords in July 2011. Though I wrote and published several books, my self-publishing business didn’t take off until my wife joined me.
4 My Wife and Author, Melanie Jackson
Melanie Jackson, my wife, was an author publishing over two romance novels per year through her New York publisher, Dorchester Press. After publishing 24 novels with Dorchester, the company folded, and Melanie was without a publisher (she wanted to write cozy mysteries anyway).

A colleague of mine has been very enthused about Trello. Taking this course helped me become familiar with the program, and saved me a lot of time because my conclusion was that Trello isn't the right choice for me. I did try out the free version of Trello, but found several of the features that I was really hoping to find were only available with the paid subscription---and many of the "PowerUps" in the paid version require a separate paid subscription to yet another platform. The format is somehow less intuitive for me, so I'm going back to the free version of Asana to keep track of projects and to-do's; where that's lacking I find the capabilities in G-Suite add the extra features I need for collaboration. I did hope that the instructor would walk through some of the sample templates that Trello provides free of charge, which cover a wider range of project types and planning scenarios.

Very clear explanations, not too fast, not too slow, just perfect! There's also the fact that the content of the course itself is very engaging and complete. I can feel I am going to be able to do pretty much anything I want on Trello after this course. This one course is enough for making any person not only proficient, but also advanced with this amazing tool! Great job, sir!

The instructor is winging it. Not actually an expert on Trello. It seems that he is making stuff up on the fly. You end up learning a few things but it would be better if the instructor new the material.

For me, the course was worthwhile, although it was a little out-of-date. It mostly just goes over Trello features without adding anything I hadn't already figured out in a few minutes of playing around with Trello, but it does make some forays into thoughts about how to use those features too. I have mixed feelings about the "experiment" with outlining a book using Trello. On the one hand, it was a good example of thinking outside the box when applying Trello. On the other hand, there are better tools available which are specifically for that purpose.

Brian Jackson speaks perfectly clear and well making it very easy to understand him and a joy to listen to. This is important to me because I've bought a few classes where the facilitator's accent was so heavy that even the closed caption couldn't figure out what they were saying. He is knowledgeable with Trello and he is right. I much rather sit through his engaging class and learn everything I need to get going with Trello than to surf for instructions to read and/or view it and try to piecemeal it together myself. Brian gave me exactly what I needed to start using Trello and I've already gotten three boards started and a very happy Trello user so far.

Another great course from this instructor. As a project manager looking for new online PM tools, I found this course to be very useful. Trello uses different terms than the common project management terms you may be used to. The instructor explains these in the first few lectures, which is very helpful. board = project, list = phases of a project, card = task, checklist = a lower level hierarchy for a given card, labels = visual categorization with colors (and optional text)

Great pace (I watch most things at 1.5-2x anyway) and level of detail. Trello is easy to use and fairly intuitive anyway, but Brian makes it easy to get started if you don't feel like experimenting on your own at first. Once you get going, it'll be easier to learn more on your own without a course. My only criticism is that the instructor hasn't always explored all of the options before recording which results in some "I don't know what that feature is for" moments, but this typically doesn't detract from the quality of the info he does present.

Brian steps through using Trello in an organised manner. The course is ideal if you prefer to see how something is done rather than read help pages. His voice and the visuals are clear and well paced. At times I was temped to click buttons and explore facets of the program which hadn't yet been discussed. I think this experimental approach is valid but by going back and watching Brian's discussion of these topics I learned even more.

I happen to stumble upon Trello and decided to give it a try. I am a visual person so I do like the look and feel of Trello. All tho I am relatively new to using tools of this type so far I am liking it. With Brian's course it has given a good overview of what and how to use Trello and then some. I am going to have to go back and rewatch some of the lectures as I learn more about Trello. Somone had mentioned that the course was way to detailed - I strongly disagree - it is detailed but that's the point - at least for me - I need those details to know how to use the Trello tool. Especially loved lecture 30 - if you want to know what that valuable lecture has to offer you'll have to sign up and take his course to find out.

This course offers a "discover as you go" approach to the online Trello project manager. The instructor is unassuming and knowledgeable, and gives specific examples on how to maximize your use of Trello. I've purchased multiple courses from this instructor and have never been disappointed. Sure there are a couple of glitches with an add-on left running during one of the early courses, but he made an immediate effort to give us a "heads up." The best thing the instructor said was basically, that we shouldn't spend too much time fiddling around in Trello instead of actually doing the work it's supposed to help us manage! Because of this course I have switched over completely from Todoist to Trello and the Reminders app, since Trello doesn't currently support the Calendar on Macs and iOS.
