Sharing is who I am, and teaching is where I am at my best, because I've been on both sides of that equation, and getting to deliver useful training is my meaningful way to be a part of the creative community.
I've spent a long time watching others learn, and teach, to refine how I work with you to be efficient, useful and, most importantly, memorable. I want you to carry what I've shown you into a bright future.
I have a wife (a lovely Irish girl) and kids. I have lived and worked in many places (as Kiwis tend to do) but most of my 14+ years of creating and teaching has had one overriding theme: bringing others along for the ride as we all try to change the world with our stories, our labours of love and our art.
I'm a certified Adobe instructor (ACI) in Ireland. I'm also an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) and have completed the Adobe Certified Associate training (ACA). And I don't just do Adobe. Remember, media is a very broad term digital blew out the borders, so we are all constantly learning.
I've been teaching for 14+ years. I come from being a media designer and content creator so I understand exactly where you're at now. I've been there. I love this stuff. Print, digital publishing, web and video. I can see how it all connects. And I can see how we can share those connections.
I built Bring Your Own Laptop in Ireland, New Zealand, Australia & online. I have a great team working with me to keep BYOL at the top of Adobe and digital media training. I u

Delivering with clear and details explanation during the course! I think it can be very useful for those of you who want to be a Web Designer like me! Recommended!

Thanks Dan,I really enjoyed the course buddy. I took it mainly to understand design & workflow better. I haven't worked in the industry or even as a designer I just really enjoy using adobe tools and have plugged away with them for a good few years now. What skills I have picked up I use in my own business though, I know I probably sound like the typical business owner wanting to do everything themselves, but for me its been really useful to build my brand. I own the Slush Monkeys brand and have applied my illustrator skills to help brand out new retail customers that come on board, machine vinyls, POS, brochures etc.Now my next task is to build a really substantial web presence for Slush Monkeys. I will be using what you taught me to design the layout and then developing it myself in Webflow. I have been studying Webflow for over a year now and feel really confident I can do it. I have no midnight oil left I have burnt that much but I feel it will all be worth it if the end result is we are able to internally produce the design work for the Slush Monkeys brand and also be able to develop and control are own websites. We currently have a Wordpress site up on slushmonkeys.co.uk but I know it can be a whole lot better, not to mention proper SEO.Thanks, again buddy you are very engaging and I thoroughly enjoyed learning. I have also downloaded your Illustrator & Photoshop essential & advanced courses which I plan to do next....but I have two babies, girls under the age of three so it's just trying to find the time in between the nappies and tantrums, but looking forward to chipping away at them & deepening my knowledge when I can. The thing is for me I am always second-guessing my work because I have never had any formal training or even worked alongside a professional designer. Also, I am based in Belfast if your ever up this way your more than welcome to stop by the office for a coffee or lovely Slush Monkeys.Take care & good luck for now.NoelPS Hope the weather is better in Dublin than in Belfast

I was above skeptical with how much I'd learn doing a self-guided online course. I am FLOORED. Daniel is funny and extremely knowledgable about Adobe products and design. It was entertaining enough to keep my attention and I learned real actual skills that told me the "what" behind the "why". I ABSOLUTELY recommend doing the projects he assigns. They force you to think for yourself using your newly acquired skills. I'd give this course 10 stars if I could! Thank you so so so much!! (Oh, and his Kiwi accent--and drawing--is simply lovable!)

Awesome experience with Dan, Thanks to you for making these concepts of UI design easy to understand. The course was fun to Learn.Happy voice of the instructor and his Cheat chats make the learning cool and enjoyable. I have Finished my Course and i have lot of confidence now that i can design the UI of the website or for the app. But one thing i found missing or i feel that little bit extra information would be required for the new UI designers is, how does the Developer put everything in place in his codes that have been exported to him? And what would be the basic and common challenges the UI designer gets and how to tackle the problems? just a two min explanation would be too much. Overall it was Fun with Dan, and i am up for the "Homework" given..will post once finished. I have also taken up one more course by Dan on UX design in Adobe XD. ??

Amazing Experience of learning with Daniel..Learned a lot from him about UI design basics..I believe that it will help to nourishing my career in terms of UI designer.Kudos to him.Cheers

Thanks for another great course Dan!I already finished the Illustrator Advanced course, but I found this to be a good review of some tools and techniques. The course is a bit dated RE: Xd but there are lots of gems here and it was still worth it for the UI design theory, and I especially liked the thorough guide to using Google fonts, which I plan to use as a reference going forward.Cheers!

I got introduced to the illustrator in a very smart way! I got what I was expecting from the course. Covered all the aspects of web design that are used in illustrator like exporting CSS code, responsive images, SVG, etc. Really nice course.Thank You

Yes it was. I love Illustrator and knowing I can use it for this is amazing.

His explanations are straightforward and easy to understand. Providing just the right amount of hints and tips to make this course interesting. Thanks!

yes it was a good course to proceed as i am new to illustrator it gives me knowledge of various tools and steps which i can use while using illustrator

The instructor is definitely knowledgeable and has good presentation and teaching skills. However, for this course, I would have liked to learn more about the web design side of things like principles and good practices rather than how to use Illustrator. I do understand that some who take the course don't have Illustrator knowledge, but I feel like how to use Illustrator is another course on its own. Learning about the Grid system and extracting the CSS information is the only thing I have learned regarding web design or the principles of web design. I know that this is not a web design course regarding coding, but more web-related stuff like why you should design things this way and why you should not design things that way would be good.

Learned some new stuff about working in Adobe Illustrator. Waiting on the next clips to see if It delivers the whole promises. Overall teacher guy knows his business and he is good at explaining stuff.
