Very well explained with a jovial and funny teacher! Some basics functions of Unreal engine 4 is covered and this class serves as a perfect introduction to get started! It's easy enough to learn and is definitively targeted towards beginners that as never touched the engine, so if you are new and want to learn how to make fun and quick prototypes with zero prior knowlegdes, this course is for you!

AT THE BEGINNING: LEARNING AS I AM DOING. GETTING BETTER! AT THE END: THIS GUY IS THE RYAN REYNOLDS OF PROGRAMMING TEACHERS. Awesome stuff dude. Great Course - If there is any course to get your feet wet and just discover the feel of unreal engine [and learning a few things] THIS IS THE COURSE. You should do this course first - and then follow up with building a full game as a second course. You inherit some of it [just how to walk around unreal engine] comfortably. The code is beyond me [right now] but with more practice, you'll be fine. Just make sure you are able to follow along and do everything he does. If you can go as fast as he is talking. Then that is good! Don't be afraid to pause the video and go back! Glad I took this!

The course was a disappointment me. I think it's not bad for free course. But is not free course.

This course really helps learn the basics as well as the more intermediate concepts for the unreal engine. I have never worked with UE4 before taking this course, and I feel confident in taking the skills and concepts learned here and applying them to my own projects or my own functionality.

Mark is easy to listen to, great pace but expect to 'rewind' to better absorb concepts, and I liked that he covers a little bit of a lot of different parts of Unreal to help you understand the relationship between elements of the engine. Would love to see an advanced sequel! :)

It was a little more development focused than I realised, but this course was a great general primer for what can easily be achieved in UE4. Although I'm not super-interested in the code side of things, it did help me think about areas that I do want to properly learn in UE4 -- level design, blueprints, materials. I felt Mark explained things very clearly but also spoke about why/why not to do things a certain way as well. Highly recommended.

Great course, well taught by a knowledgeable and fun instructor. There's a lot of information here that that will be great to have as a reference when working on real world projects as he has covered tons of commonly used blueprints and engine features in an easy to follow manner. Thanks Devslopes!

Being a complete newbie in UE4 and buying this course as my first ever on Udemy, I've found it pretty much perfect for any person who want to launch their learning with UE4. Videos are well-done, teacher has a perfect pleasant voice and the hole educational material is written in a simple, understandable format. Can recommend it for 100%! For those who fears that current engine version is too high - I have completed this course on 4.24.3 and didn't bump into any issues - just be attentive and follow the teacher steps :) The only issue with the course is that there is one bug that was never ever addressed - movement backwards becomes very slow when pointing your mouse into the ground. But apart from this - a great course!

This course has you dip your toe, and sometimes the whole foot, into every major feature of the Unreal Engine. Level design, Materials, Animations, Blueprints, UI, and much more are all covered as you're walked through how to make a game. This course will not make you an expert in Unreal, nor will it make you an expert in a single given feature of Unreal. That's not it's purpose. This is a general seminar course that covers a little bit of everything. The learning methodology mimics the experience you'd have working in an actual game studio. You get 2D layouts from your "boss" and scripts from the "writers" and have to figure out how to greybox them into actual playable spaces. Having worked in the game industry for some time, I find this courses approach accurate and incredibly useful. I can imagine referring back to these videos when I start building something on my own, simply because it touches on so many aspects of building a game. The only negative for this course is that there's a fair amount of confusion about where the resources are that you'll need. If you look at the course list, it's easy enough to find, but even I found myself getting confused in a couple spots. A video at the start with a link to all the resources for the whole course could help clear this up nicely though.

An excellent introduction to UE4 that covers a lot of ground. Everything is really well explained (unlike some other courses) and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I hope to see an intermediate course from the same instructor soon! Highly recommended!
