Good course that teaches all the necessary basics for UE5 and Blender. The explanations are good, especially for beginners to both programs. I would have given 5 stars, but unfortunately, since the course is not super new, some of the features and functionalities in UE5 and Blender have changed and some of the 3rd party sources and pages mentioned are not available (or not free) anymore, so there are some parts that can be a little tricky to follow. However, I would still recommend this course for anyone interested in UE5 and 3D modelling.

I learned a great deal of new things from this course! I had some experience with UE5, but learnt a lot about prototyping and blueprints. The course gave me the confidence to do bug fixing and adding new features without the help of this course. I had no experience with Blender, but now feel confident making my own models for my games, even though they don't look anywhere near as good as the ones made in this course! The Blender section is a bit outdated with some tools no longer existing or being in different places, so some Googling is needed to get around these parts. I also had to watch the videos on 2x speed due to the speed at which the instructor talks. Overall great course, I now feel confident enough to go and make my own game and get out of tutorial hell :)

This course is everything I was expecting and even more :) I previously worked in Blender a lot and I wanted to know how to use this program to make assets to Unreal. I worked a bit in Unreal previously but I was struck of what Unreal Engine offers and how overwhelming it is. This course is perfect to get to know with everything what are the basics of Unreal and a great way to continue learning with more advanced projects.

This course goes at an good pace, and is great for beginners who have spent a little bit of time getting acquainted with Unreal Engine. It is starting to fall a bit out of date with the Blender components since some major updates to the Blender layout have been made. I also found that the instructor relied heavily on teaching key-bindings for functions, without explaining where those functions could be found within the Blender UI. This made the Blender component of the course far more challenging to follow as someone completely unfamiliar with the platform. I would prefer to learn the less efficient, but more intuitive way first, and build efficiencies with keyboard shortcuts as I grow more familiar with a platform.

I thought this was a fantastic course. It may be intimidating and take a long time to finish. I came into the course knowing a little bit of Unity and working with Blender many years. But I learned so much about sculpting and generating my own texture maps from this course. I imagine it would take me a lot longer to find the information found in this course by just attempting youtube tutorials since this has everything all in one place and for a single project. Just a quick edit: This course was also incredibly thorough and didnt leave out information that a lot of courses do. I never felt like i was just being dropped into things i didnt understand.

I had five starts and am reducing now. That's the 2nd course from this author, and the previous one was five stars. This course requires more video editing. All the pauses and unnecessary sounds should be removed. It takes so long to have some useful info. It should be much faster, and I have a feeling of wasting a lot of time watching the same thing over and over again. This should be about learning, not seeing the slow process of making it.

This course is extensive, covering a wide range of topics. Teaching Blender on its own or Unreal Engine on its own is challenging enough, but covering both programs in a single course is very ambitious and welcomed. Overall, the instructor is very good, but I wish she was better organized in some parts of the course. I cannot complain too much because I have learned an awful lot. Recommended.

The instructor is quite patient and passionate. Seems like she is a perfectionist as she couldn't help herself from stopping polish work on several occasions even though she would say that such detail is not required for the purposes of this project. The skill on the art side of things is pretty evident while the Unreal knowledge could use some polish for accomplishing certain things more efficiently. For eg: creating a global get player function in the function library and invoking it across event graphs instead of doing the cast to TP Character locally in every blue print graph. Would recommend sharing Blend files of references of every single asset created as well the Unreal game level, so that one can fast track the learning and get on with creating their own games - Yes, practice is good but some learners are more experienced and they would like to skip ahead as they get the concepts right away. If the instructor is unable to share those assets, it is best not to use proprietary assets/references for demonstration purposes. Also found that High resolution sculpting can be avoided if the original sculpt used for Retopology was detailed enough to start with. I was able to get an excellent looking character under 10K tris as opposed to the 20Ks shown in the demo. Also, the instructor should focus and talk more about performance gotchas. Recommending 4K textures for every asset is insane. These are very important for people targeting mobile platforms. Banana textures could quite simply be 256*256. I wish the instructor had taken some time off instead of recording sections when unwell. Those sections were hard to get through. Knowledge on extrusion settings for baking is quite random. Could have covered UV editor in Unreal. This works well for assets generated directly in Unreal. Didn't like the portions were instructor lead us down doing something wrong and have us backtrace the work to do it a better way. The thoughts could be more collected and organized. Replacing references of Assets in Unreal (without using Outliner since mesh may not be named correctly) - right click Mesh Asset in Cointent Browser -> Asset Actions - > Select Actors Using This Asset/Replace References. Overall a very nice starter course. Would have still liked to have an intro section to traditional modeling (non scuplt) features for the inorganic assets that come in the finishing touches section. That was a bit hurried up.

Meine Empfehlung!

This sets the bar high for all other courses. It has to be the best course for learning unreal. The instructor has good pronunciation and I am able to watch in 2x speed without any problems. She is an outstanding artist and very knowledgeable about best practices. I guess if I was to say something bad it would be that sometimes she will lead you into making mistakes and then correcting them later. It is project based so your always applying what is being taught. Super polished this course clearly had a great amount of time put into making sure a noob could follow along. I’m thankful I found it and would recommend it to any beginner.
