Our take

Based on the ratings of 11,017 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in July 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

Four separate Blender courses stitched into one 134-hour bundle from Skillademia Academy: a short Blender 5 foundations block, a longer basics track, a character creation course, and an environment art course. The syllabus shows 247 lectures across 36 sections, with the single character project alone running past 27 hours. It is marketed at beginners, but the reviews suggest it suits patient self-learners who are happy to pause, rewind, and look things up, rather than people who need every click narrated.

About 78,000 students have enrolled and the rating sits at 4.2 from roughly 11,000 reviews, with most giving four or five stars. Happy reviewers like how the early lessons break Blender down to fundamentals, and several call the teaching clear and the instructor obviously expert. The low-star reviews are consistent. Many say the main instructor goes too fast, shows rather than explains, and skips naming the shortcut or tab she just used. Her accent is a recurring gripe, and one reviewer notes there are no English captions to lean on. Others say the bulk of the material was recorded on Blender 3.0 and needs workarounds on current versions.

The July 2026 update added a Blender 5 foundations section, so the first few hours are current even if the rest is not. It is very long, and it goes places shorter beginner courses don't, like retopology, texture painting, and asset destruction. If you want one purchase that covers modeling, characters, and environments, it is decent value. If you want a carefully paced first course, the Complete Blender Creator course beside it on our list is the safer pick.

Best forPatient self-learners who want one long bundle spanning props, characters, and environment art, and don't mind rewinding.
Skip it ifYou need slow, narrated, click-by-click teaching, or you want every lesson recorded on a current Blender version.

Pros

  • Covers the full pipeline: modeling, sculpting, retopology, UVs, texture painting, rigging, lighting, and compositing
  • New Blender 5 foundations section added in July 2026 gives beginners a current starting point
  • Reviewers praise the early lessons for breaking Blender down to clear fundamentals
  • Long project-based character and environment sections, including a 27-hour character build

Cons

  • Low-star reviews say the main instructor moves fast and shows rather than explains
  • Reviewers say most of the material was recorded on Blender 3.0, so menus and tools need workarounds
  • Accent and a reported lack of English captions trip up some students
Other than the accent, which can make it difficult to understand sometimes, it has been great.
Jason E Barr, a student

Listed as all levels, but reviewers say it works better once you already know Blender basics or can look things up as you go.

Course Description

Learn Blender from the ground up and become a complete 3D artist.

Have you ever wanted to create 3D models, characters, animations, or entire worlds? Whether your goal is to work in game development, animation, product visualization, concept art, or simply bring your creative ideas to life, Blender is one of the most powerful tools available, and it's completely free!

This comprehensive Blender Megacourse is designed to take you from complete beginner to advanced creator through a structured learning path taught by multiple Blender professionals.

Recently updated with a brand-new Blender 5 Foundations section, giving students a modern starting point while preserving the comprehensive advanced training and projects that have helped thousands of learners develop professional 3D skills.

You'll begin with a modern beginner-friendly introduction using version 5 of Blender. Starting from the fundamentals, you'll learn how to navigate the interface, work with objects and meshes, use modifiers, create materials, set up lighting, and build complete projects including a fantasy cabin scene.

Once you've mastered the foundations, you'll continue deeper into Blender's professional workflows. You'll learn modeling techniques, sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, texture painting, materials, rendering, and much more. Along the way you'll create practical projects that reinforce every concept.

From there, you'll move into dedicated character creation training, where you'll learn how to model, sculpt, texture, rig, pose, and render stylized characters from start to finish.

Finally, you'll learn how professional artists create detailed 3D environments. You'll build scenes using advanced modeling, texturing, lighting, composition, asset creation, destruction workflows, rendering, and compositing techniques.

This course is taught by multiple experienced Blender artists, each specializing in different areas of 3D creation. Rather than learning from a single perspective, you'll benefit from multiple workflows, techniques, and approaches used by professional artists.

By the end of this course, you'll have built a strong portfolio of projects and gained the skills needed to confidently create your own models, characters, and environments in Blender.

Whether you're a complete beginner or someone looking to take their Blender skills further, this course provides everything you need to become a confident 3D artist.

After taking this course, you will be able to:

  • Create complete 3D models and scenes from scratch using Blender

  • Build stylized props, environments, and portfolio-ready renders

She is going to fast . This is not the way to teach someone she is just showing what she can do, not keeping in mind people are actually watching to learn. What's the point if students will not understand how is she performing the tasks. Her Accent is also very difficult to understand in many instances I had to replay just to understand what she said.

By Lisa Sharpe on 7/31/2026

OMG I have no idea what she is doing. So many times she quickly says "i just did that" - without the key strokes I would have no idea what happened and it all happens in a second so its hard to capture. And I have worked in this program before so not a total beginner. I am NOT enjoying her teaching style..... AND after 2% viewed they wont even issue me a refund because I watched too much

By John Branner on 7/14/2026

Well; the accent is a little distracting but not overwhelming. Where I run into problems is getting my view to match hers. And, that could be my fault. I should probably just watch it first, then follow along. So, for now, the experience is fairly good.

Just went through exercise 7, It was good to follow along the practice demo with the basic skills covered so far an that I know, very useful practically understanding this. Course has explained Blender well so far and iv only just started, looking forward to more in depth.

By Jacques Zoo on 5/8/2026

Although I am using a very later version (Blender 5.1.0), so far, the voice and the instructions are clear, and I am able to follow the course (I don't know about later lessons because I am sure many things had changed between the 3.0 version used in this course and the current 5.0 or 5.1.0 version).

By Kelsey Smart on 4/26/2026

I decided to take this course as a refresher as I did some 3D work during university, but I've become really rusty. So far this course has been really nice to follow. It's easy to understand, the tutor has a friendly and helpful attitude. I'm looking forward to getting into a project and progressing.

By Maggie Yuan on 4/14/2026

She explains things really clearly and the objects she has us make are great for my learning of this software. I feel that the things I'm making right now will help me with my illustrations a lot

By Matthew Taylor on 1/6/2026

This is a very informative course. Even if you have worked with Youtube to get the basics, this takes it a big leap forward. I am very impressed with the amount of content, almost 150 hours. The instructor does not leave anyone behind and yet the pace seems to constantly move forward. If you find this course for under $40, buy it.

By Attila Viktor Molnár on 12/22/2025

I used Blender before and I learnt bit-by-bit from various sources such as youtube videos, books and experimenting. However, I felt that I have gaps which seriously hold me back. I enrolled into this course to fill those gaps and to develop a comprehensive skillset, and it turned out to be an awesome choice. My favorite parts of this course are the DEMO sessions. Where the learnt techniques are put together to create complex 3D scenes.
