A very nice a quick tutorial to get you thinking like a modeler. This is perfect for someone like me who wants to learn more about Blender but is a bit daunted by longer tutorials. Even though I knew a bit going into this, I learned a lot of tips on shortcuts, and generally how to approach each asset piece by piece instead of trying to do everything all at once. What surprised me the most was just how many parts ended up being separate and really dispelled my impression that everything had to be one big complex object. This is applicable even for Blender 5+ which I'm in now, so it goes to show just how much longevity having the right mindset has.

I just finished the Low Poly Landscape course and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. This course is an absolute gem. Grant’s teaching style is clear, engaging, and incredibly effective. He walks you through everything step by step. I’ve picked up so many new skills and I feel so much more confident in using Blender. The way Grant explains complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner really makes the learning process enjoyable. His passion for teaching shines through. If you’re looking to learn Blender and get a solid grasp of its functionalities, this course is an absolute must. Highly recommend it and Grants other courses! Hands down the best Blender teacher.

What I liked best is the in-depth fundamentals of modeling, realy explaining each and every issue and use-cases with each tool used that can occur in addition to general and basic 3D-Theory, like shading issues with quads, cleaning up meshes after using the knife and much more! This course is mainly a short but intense modeling course. While other Tutors might use shortcuts in modeling, Grant does show many ways to take on tasks, opening your windows. You will fairly know what bevels or loop cuts are and how and when they work, how and when to use a knife and how and when to use modifiers.

I think Grant has put together a wonderful course to get your feet wet with modeling and all the necessary things you need to know to create low poly art. It is a fun scene and HDRI lighting wraps around this model perfectly. Your course lead me down the rabbit hole along with Mr. google a few times. The challenges are a good motivator but can take you down many rabbit holes, if you don't watch out. I screwed the cottage up so bad that I spent time deconstructing it and re building it so I didn't have to start over and then curiosity took me via google down the HDRI lighting hole. I spent time trying to figure out how it works and then watching the light wrap around my model perfectly. It is amazing what you can learn to create with blender with a little bit of knowledge from an experienced teacher. My version looks similar to the picture we use to build our scene and what the teacher builds in his lecture with my own twist . What I like about this is how you encourage everyone to follow along but to give it your own style too. I just finished lesson number 34 and am working my way to lesson 40. I purchased a few of your other courses like low poly people, your big course where you build that medieval village and the dragon one. I decided when I wanted to learn blender that it might be a good thing to view this like college study and take other instructors also. What I have found is every instructor brings collectively new and different angles at doing things to the table. This course taught me a lot of hot key commands than other instructors used and exposed me to quicker ways of working. I am looking forward to the low poly people so eventually I can append some of them into this scene. Art becomes even more interesting when you add peeps into it. I have to admit it, I do love a good landscape picture with or with ought people. I also chose these projects because they struck me as being very interesting artistic wise. It is a simple scene but it has a wonderful vibe when you look at it. I understand from your Bio you love to teach that has become one of your passions over the years. If you ever teach a bite sized thing on building in blender and using the models to create VR scenes. I will probably be signing up for that one too. I know there are other courses on here that teach it but I really did have fun with this project. Thank you

I honestly love this course. I'm coming from the C4D and had a few tries at Blender before but it always just seemed so unwelcoming to me. This course really changed that and I had a lot of fun and love the end result! I was surprised by the pauses when we were supposed to follow what we've seen in our own projects and constant questions about things we've heard before. It really solidified the knowledge, I love it! In other courses I often first watched the course, then watched it for the second time just to have a good look at the tools and then follow it myself, but there is no need for that here as we get those mentioned breaks that literally force you to take action and start doing it yourself "now!". Really great stuff, wish you had more bite sized courses, it's an amazing format.

Do you know what's wrong with this course? It's just that he ends. There are no words to describe how amazing this course is. If you really want to LEARN how to model Low Poly, then this is the right place. The teacher has amazing knowledge and manages to pass this on to the students, explaining in detail, doing it step by step, going from the most basic to a little more complex, you feel comfortable progressing throughout the course and seeing the expected result at the end. You pay for what you want to see and learn, thank you teacher for everything!

Grant is an awesome teacher. This course is perfectly catered for beginners who have never opened Blender. Why not five stars then? Simply because some easier practices could be mentioned (like having the camera locked to not move it around or attach it to view for an easier set up, same goes for modelling and taking care of ngons which, even if it would sometimes not create artifacts in render depending on the surface are still really bad practice for artists who want to share their work with others or export it to other softwares in their pipeline). The course really delivers on its promises, but its leisure-oriented focus can get confusing for people trying to learn best practices in the industry.

Because every person is different(skillset, talent, personality, experiences with or without in this case Blender). My positive opinion about this course varies from that of others. I am developing my own game, and wanted a short sidetrack doing something with graphics as a preparation befor i shift my focus from programming to GFX design. And when you aren't using Blender on a daily basis you forget stuff :( I gave this course from Grant Abbitta a 5 star for the following reason. 1. Teaching wise including his narration and explaining things. His humble and pleasant attitude is for me a 5 stars alone. 2. The project he teaches is noting stellar his original design is even better then what you end up with if you follow his course to the spot on!! But the most fun part of this course is to end up with your own version of the scene. 3. It teached me different approaches and something new along the way. Overall a very pleasant course to follow and how he will create more in the future. There is a Q&A section with a threads where you can post your work. Look it up and put your contribution there. Course fully recommended even for seasoned Blender users. Let your creativity go wild.

I was so happy when I got the info about this course in my email. I've been on the Complete Blender course for six months and I'm almost done with section 3. So I really appreciate being able to do something, fun and simple that doesn't take much time. I really love that it won't take me much time to do this course. Thank you so much to Grant for doing such an excellent job delivering this course. I do hope you have plans for many short courses. I'll be happy to do then all! (I also appreciate having the UK terms translated to US terms, such as full stop and period. - halfway through the course update - I really appreciate how Grant repeats the common steps over again and always says what he's doing as well. One of the reasons I was taking so long on Mikey's course is that Mikey usually only tells you how to do something once, so if you forget then you have to search through the course to find the instruction again.
