Course Description
Build production-grade full-stack apps faster than ever by combining the power of Windsurf with the best modern web tools: Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Shadcn UI, Drizzle ORM, Clerk, and Neon PostgreSQL.
In this project-based course you'll build ProStoic, a mindful journaling app where users can log personal reflections and use Mirror Mode, an AI-powered feature that analyzes challenges through a Stoic lens and offers practical steps to move forward based on Stoic philosophy. You’ll implement full authentication, role-based access, and a SaaS-style subscription system, all while letting Windsurf do 100% of the coding. AKA Vibe Coding!
That's right: the entire app is built by prompting Windsurf. No manual coding required. You'll see how to guide Windsurf from a blank repo to a deployed, production-ready app using Code Mode, structured prompting, and Windsurf Rules and Windsurf Workflows to steer the AI and get high-quality, secure, and reliable code output.
You'll also use MCP (Model Context Protocol) to seamlessly connect to your Neon PostgreSQL database and generate seed data, schemas, and queries via Drizzle ORM, all through AI.
Learn how to:
Build a full-stack SaaS app from scratch using only Windsurf prompts
Use Agent Mode and Windsurf Rules to drive consistent, secure, and accurate development
Connect to Neon and populate relational data via MCP + Drizzle
Implement auth, access control, and Stripe billing with Clerk
Build beautiful, accessible UIs using Shadcn UI + Tailwind CSS
Deploy with Vercel using production-ready environment configs
By the end you'll have a fully functional app, ProStoic, and the practical workflow to build real apps with AI. This isn't just about watching code get generated; it's about learning how to think, prompt, and steer AI like a pro developer.
If you're ready to stop hand-typing boilerplate and start building with AI the smart way, this is the course for you.

the class has been good so far. I have had to look up some equivalencies since I am working with Devin Desktop. But I have been able to implement every step in the lecture successfully.

It is a great course for a complete beginner just wanting to learn the basics. The instructor gives excellent-and very valuable-guidance for how to add rule to the Windsurf (now Devin) environment and the use of "context" to guide Windsurf/Devin in generating more focused, relevant, higher quality code.

Very clear explanations

This was great. I've been working the 'old' way and this was a very practical course for understanding where software development is going, and the potential that's being unblocked by AI.

lo estoy tomando en 2026 y ya hay varias cosas que son diferentes respecto a actualizaciones, aun asi sigue siendo util

Thanks to Tom for producing this course that covered windsurf quite comprehensively. The course is a time saver because it is very well-organized to build the concepts progressively.

If you are interested in Windsurf AI, this course is an excellent choice. Tom explains everything in a way that's easy to follow. The biggest takeaway for me was learning how to use Windsurf’s rule system—especially the clever technique of creating a rule that generates other rules. I also discovered how to use MCP to generate stub database data, which sparked my curiosity about exploring other MCPs. Another highlight was seeing how third-party vendors support markdown copy features, allowing you to insert context directly into Windsurf chats or rules. It’s important to note that this course focuses on building apps quickly with Windsurf AI and integrating third-party tools through its chat and rule-based system. It’s not a Next.js tutorial. I enjoyed taking this short course.
