I am not writing this review for myself but just for someone else who might be interested in the information I have to share. And I am apologizing to the respectable teacher as well. I am an experienced developer but interested in course design and as such am following dozens of courses. This one should be renamed, because it does not provide the user with knowledge on "development" processes. Instead you are just presented on how to use some preconfigured software, and play around with the GUI of Wordpress. This has nothing to do with "developing" for Wordpress. It does not make a difference for me that the course title states it is for beginners. Even beginners should learn at least some basic development skills. And then this skills should be put to the test. But there are no quizzes to take, no questions to answer. Information someone tries to teach you just becomes knowledge if you repeat what you were told and in this respect the course does really nothing to help you gain knowledge.

The course was enlightening. I found myself in the position of replacing a staff member who was responsible for managing the website. The course will prove to be useful, but could have provided additional customization options. However, the instructor was engaging.

I love the instructor because he really went down from the basic to the highest. I have prior knowledge of web design before during the course I was able to understand the terminologies being used. Thanks I really enjoyed watching the course and it as increase my confidence level in WordPress.

Wordpress basics were covered adequately. The quizzes covered basic HTML and CSS which was touched upon, but there was never any explanation regarding how to write an HTML file, apply CSS for styling, and open in a browser. The conclusion referenced only topics which were NOT covered in the course. I think it was for a different course. The bonus material on responsive design did not discuss what responsive design is or how the demonstrated code was responsive. Media queries were not even mentioned. Even though this is "bonus" content, I found it to be misleading.

I like starting with the basic definitions. This video was easy to follow at the right speed. Made me want to go on to the next video. Being a new topic I was intimidated by the language of HTML & CSS -- this vid took away that intimidation. I tried other Wordpress vids and got lost the first lesson -- not this one. Hoping for the same experience in the next vids. The 1st video was worth the price. :)

Towards the end, this course seemed like it was carved out of a bigger, more in-depth, course. It seemed like some of the info was missing in between some of the lectures. All in all, however, it was a good start to get up and running, and then to look into courses diving deeper into the material.

The part at the beginning about hosting confused me. Maybe go slower on that area. I gave a 4.5 rating because it was comprehensive and I received a lot of valuable informatin and resources.

Course is obviously derived from another, more comprehensive course. Undeniable proof lies in the conclusion when the instructor recaps the things “you have learned”. Introduction has a good structure and clearly presents what HTML & CSS are about. XAMPP installation is also easy to follow. Then, comes the meat of the course. Or should I say, minced meat. First few lessons of Module 2 are quite informative and they teach you how to set up WordPress on your localhost and then introduce you to WordPress dashboard. After that, the instructor drops you in whitewater rapids. At the beginning of Lesson 9, the instructor announces that he’ll be explaining CSS. Instead, he shows you how to log in to WordPress, again, and what pages you have created, again. Therefore, totally useless lesson. Lesson 10 is okay but the next one misses its point completely. So, Lesson 11 shows you how to make parts of your text bold, italic and centred using HTML. It also teaches you how to add a hyperlink. It’s all fine and dandy until you get to your “Practice Tasks”. Without teaching you anything about how HTML is structured, which code goes where, it asks you to set a title of the webpage. Surely, it says at the beginning that some knowledge of HTML and CSS is quote unquote “helpful, but not required”. That simply isn’t the case. You need that knowledge to complete these tasks. Adding that bonus lesson doesn’t matter because you probably won’t get anything out of it. It’s just there to show good intent. In conclusion, the lessons aren’t bad but the structure is awful. P.S. Some things are outdated but you’ll manage.

Indeed a nice course, and worth to watch its each lesson. this course assume nothing. it will build solid foundation from the beginning, that's what I like most about it. Mr. Raza also teach how to change things in theme which is not possible in customization option only possible in the PHP code editor under the appearance tab-> editor. Indeed his course is very beneficial.
