Great course very comprehensive starting to age a little at the seams but a fundamental foundational course for those wishing to enter said field. I am confident now in being able to go on and continue to build on the knowledge learnt with a view to plying my trade. Brads an extremely hardworking and talented individual and I cannot thank him enough for giving me personally (and all of us) this opportunity. Thanks mate! NB: Newbies take plenty on notes in each lecture take your time and don't worry update WordPress all his code still works fine. You will be challenged though in certain areas to get things to work. Amazing course, I highly recommend you enroll. This is the course to take if you want to learn how create custom WordPress Themes. You'll familiarize yourself with the main WordPress php files, how to convert HTML static sites to a dynamic WordPress theme, and how to take your local site to a live site. The course uses the Underscores template from 2014 and it has changed since than. Thus, the video tutorial in the blog section does not match the new underscores template files and you'll have to search the Q&A discussions for users solutions. I completed the course and it was great investment!

The best web-building walkthrough I've ever followed. Clear and straightforward! One the greatest things about it is the repetition and practice you'll get using fundamental, core WordPress development techniques like the loop. As you're actually going through the process of creation step by step with Brad, you get to do those things multiple times yourself. By the end, your keyboard hands will be looping in their sleep. The examples are mostly in WordPress 4.1, but I've followed the course using WordPress 4.8.1 without any problems at all. A couple of changes have been made to the Custom Post Type UI plugin, but nothing that will hamper your completion of the lessons. So impressed I've signed up to a couple more of Brad's courses - a gem of a Udemy tutor. Just go for it!

This was one of the best courses that I have taken on Udemy. The teaching was executed beautifully, and there is an insane amount of ground covered. This is not a course for HTML/CSS/PHP beginners. Although Brad breaks everything down well, you will be expected to have a basic idea of what he is talking about. I have put these skills to use multiple times to create WordPress websites for real clients! Does the course cover everything you need to know? No. You will have to do some more research/courses on your own to become a full fledged WP developer, but this is very comprehensive. Love the course! A+!

I am hopeful, though that some of the future classes will teach me new things - at which point, I will rate a much higher rating. This course was great in 2015 when fist bought it, be it a little out of date. Now it's seriously out of date, and just adding 2021 to the tile doesn't make it in date

This course has far exceeded my expectations. I have been building websites with WordPress since 2009. I have become pretty proficient in its use and have learned many ways to get it to do what I want. I have an extensive list of all the various plugins I have found to do what I need and I have a few key themes that are highly flexible and have allowed me to build some pretty amazing sites. But I have always felt so limited by not knowing how to code things so that I have the ability to truly customize the site I am working on. I have gone on to learn how to build websites using free videos, and have been a full-time web developer for 5 years now. This course has revealed how incredibly easy it is to build WordPress themes. Having a skilled developer and trainer walk me through it is exactly what I needed. I now have now built a fully functioning theme and know the fundamentals to build any design and layout! And the great part is that I now know how to truly customize an endless variety of themes going forward. This is my first course with Brad. I’m sure this won’t be my last.

Brad courses are awesome and this one is his best yet. For several reasons, but mainly because it goes to the point and doesn't bore. He is funny and understand that online learning can get monotonous at times so he does his best (including but not limited to Elvis impressions). But beside fun, is the teaching content. I knew how to install wordpress because my host has automatic installs, most host do, but I never knew how to navigate wordpress codex. I was afraid to break something in mysql, but Brad walks you through and explains step by step what to ad, and transfer your site, to wordpress. In this case a bootstrap site. I love this course and I would recommend it to anyone struggling with adding custom content to wordpress. Thanks Brad. You are awesome.

I develop websites as a hobby and have over the past years learnt HTML/CSS/Bootstrap 3 and Responsive Web Design.....I consider myself semi-proficient but to class myself as a developer would be stretching it! Nonetheless I enjoy the challenge of building websites and recently have been trying to learn Wordpress and PHP. I signed up to Treehouse a year ago and found it to have excellent content. I thought Treehouse would be hard to beat - and indeed it is - until I came across Udemy, and in particular Brad. This course is unique/exceptional for many reasons. The course is not only well structured and relevant to today's 'responsive' needs but by combining bootstrap and wordpress development in one concise hands-on tutorial Brad has stolen a lead on his 'competitors' and provided a unique opportunity for abinitio developers to increase their skills-set beyond the norm, in the quickest possible time and, more importantly, to a commercial level! This course is the most useful, interesting and comprehensive I have ever come across. Brad's instructional technique and manner of delivery are second to none and well suited to imparting his extensive knowledge to others less talented than himself! If you have a smattering of HTML/CSS knowledge and want to be at the forefront of Bootstrap/Wordpress web development then this course is a must have!
