Course Description
So you want to learn Blender, but 3d can be hard..No, 3d IS complex!
But this course makes it simple.
You will learn the basics in a casual and fun environment.
Thank you for checking out my course. I am so glad you chose to watch this video.
Way back in 2009, I first heard about this fantastic new 3D app called BLENDER. You could create 3D models, and it was FREE!
At the time, there was primarily expensive software, and that wasn't in my budget.
Blender is easy to learn, and everyone is learning 3D. It's the future! So I downloaded it and opened it up and right away got to work making 3D models and...Okay, I didn't do any of that!
I saw the interfaced and said, "WHAAAAATT is this? What am I looking at? What do I do?"
I closed it and never opened it until a year later. That year turned into a yearly ritual of me saying, "This year, I will finally learn 3D".
It seemed impossible, and when something seems impossible, you're not motivated, and you don't want to do it. I said things like, "I just a 2d artist, and I can just draw whatever I need" or "3D is not my thing, it looks cool but" or my favorite "I have no reason to learn 3D."
But I secretly knew the power of 3D and how it could speed up my workflow, and I knew that other 2D artists used it all the TIME. But that feeling and was leading me to negative self-talk and all that. That's the reason it didn't "Seem worth it."
But I did learn it. I knew the basics first, and it took me a few months, but I did. And now I want to help you learn Blender.
In this course, you will:
Learn modeling basics step by step
Learn some basic sculpting techniques
Understand Blender and its Interface
How to work in Object and Edit mode
Learn a few essential addons
Have full access to me (Your instructor)
Get the basics down so you can move on to other courses
Also, when Blender Updates to version 3.0, I will be making the updates to the class.

Aside from being an artist as long as I can remember I started offering a few tutorials on Youtube. Little did I know that by teaching people the fundamentals of art and anatomy i'd begin a new dimension to my career. Being a working freelance illustrator with a youtube channel is hard work, and I wouldn't change a thing. I steadily expanded my work from clients who needed branding to doing work on indie games and apps. i enjoy helping artists and non artist achieve that next level. The road to artistic expression and freedom is paved with hard work and dedication. There are setbacks and monsters to slay , but the rewards are great.

This course has been so helpful in teaching me how to navigate blender and use the tools. He makes it so simple and fun! I'm excited to keep going! Thank you for making this NOT SCARY! :)

I was frustrated by the slow meandering chat style of the teacher and his taking forever to tell a simple point. I understand it's needed for some people, but personally it's frustrating.

I was not a total beginner with Blender and had previously given up on the programme many times. This is the second course that I managed to complete. Rich explained everything in detail and repetition helped. He also demonstrated tools I had not seen in any other course e.g the cube tool.

Excellent beginner course on the most important aspects of Blender, especially beginner modeling and pretty awesome sculpting! It leaves you in a great starting place for other blender courses!

I've taken several courses by this instructor, and I really enjoy his way of teaching. I find him to be fun and engaging and knowledgeable. Even though I don't plan on using Blender just yet as a web and graphic design student, I did find this course useful. I didn't know much about Blender before this, but I do now, and if I do decide to use Blender in the future I'll have this course to review if necessary.

Mostly happy with this course overall. Some sections were off the cuff and a little confusing; but I have learned many useful blender tools and can navagate the interface and get a project started with a workflow. Liked the modeling/scupting part as it was very practical and creative. This is a great stepping stone to now learn more intro-beginner Blender courses. Recommended for those who are very new to Blender.

Great course, easy to follow and well paced. The instructor takes his time to explain things thoroughly and allows for a good amount of practice. I'm now feeling far less daunted about working in 3D.

Love the instructor's pacing for this course, for newbies like me. He does make it feel like we're on a fun exploratory journey through Blender. Definitely not dry or boring. Although I do wish there's more structure in the teaching, so we can save time with less of the "let's-click-and-see-if-this-works" attempts.

So i registered for this course but been scared to start not until now. I appreciate the tutor for mentioning that He learnt 3D when he was 45 years old and if he could learn it, anyone could. I am full of expectations right now and will go with my pace.

This course is a good match for me because I am new to learning about Blender and would like to learn as much as I can from this course how to create my own 3rd art with it.
