Clean architecture & SOLID principles for Android in Kotlin (Udemy.com)

This course helps in understaning MVVM and clean code architechture, but it is little bit oudated. * Need to update the couse with Jetpack compose instead of XML for UI. * Need to use compose navigation. * Need to use better version of Dependency Injection - Koin. Please update the couse to latest which will be more helpful.

'entities' and 'use cases' that appear in 'Clean Architecture'?” I could understand a little bit about “what are ‘entities’ and ‘use cases’ in ‘Clean Architecture’”. This material is for those who have some basic knowledge of Android and Kotlin. I would not recommend this material to everyone. If you have some basic knowledge of Android and Kotlin, Section 2 and Section 3 are worth watching. Section 2 and Section 3 are worth watching.

I liked the course as a refresher since I am an experienced Android Developer. Another aspect I liked is the course is relatively short and that allows to actually complete it in a reasonable amount of time and not be tempted to forget about it like some long courses, especially if you are like me with a limited attention span! Having to update some of the outdated code has been an additional challenge I have appreciated and it actually made the course more interesting. Concise and crucial contents, this is good to overlook whole skills and how to integrate them to your project structrure. It is very helpful to intermeidate or above developers who know the details of each skills used at this lecture. But for the beginners, it could not be enough to understand.

El curso se llama Clean Arquitecture & Solid, pero durante el curso no se explica con claridad cuales son los principios SOLID . Solo los menciona una vez pero no explica donde y cómo se están aplicando, lo mismo que con Clean Arquitecture ya que no se logra comprender completamente qué función cumplen los componentes que se agregan en el ejemplo práctico. Está bien como curso introductorio, pero creo que le falta mucho como para ser un curso definitivo.

Good course. However, I was looking more about how clean architecture works with both databases and network request. Also, some basics on how we can unit test such code would have been really great. Anyways, thanks for your effort. I at-least understand the basics of clean architecture to start with.

This is the first udemy course I ever finish. Catalin is a great teacher. Most of the times he explains his train of thoughts. Sometimes he skips something, but I don't think it's a bad thing. It forced me to pause and goole information and fix it better in my mind. This is not about being a super expert. This is about him showing you in a very simple and intuitive manner what path should you follow to get there. I've been working as an intern in android development for about 1 year and a half and I was very unmotivated. The project is bloated, the pressure is huge and I was just copying and pasting and not learning anything, not even liking the platform anymore. Catalin is helping me love android again and making me want to continue building my career in it. And I feel like I'm finally understanding the concepts doing his courses. Thanks!

I really liked the explanation of the Author. He is very clear in his explanation. All the tutorials of Author are vey good. Thank you so much. Recommendation for author: Please add a section of retrofit for this clean architecture, It will be more helpful :)

Really good explanation of not only clean architecture principles but also other parts of Android framework. As I didn't work with Android within last few years this was very useful for me. Thanks to this coure I refreshed some UI stuffs as well including the latest features like Navigation.

Clearly presented with a good grasp on real life. Little more ideas on how the project structure would scale to bigger projects would be a great add-on. In big projects the module structure seems to be more feature oriented. How would it play out in this scenario? Also the role of the view-model presented as a non-domain-logic component could be second guessed. Little more info how the chosen solution lines up with SOLID would be useful. Now it is self evident and explained clearly in some parts, but not so much in others. Overall a good, clear and compact presentation of the topic. Good investment if you want some clear architectural example that is real life driven.
