Complete Kotlin Coroutines development course (Udemy.com)

Overall, the course was good, but it covered mostly the basics. Most topics were explained on a fairly surface level — enough to get a general idea, but not deep enough to fully understand some of the trickier parts of concurrency. The sections on channels were interesting and probably the most engaging part of the course. However, the coverage of Flow felt quite superficial, and I would have liked to see more in-depth examples and real-world patterns. Also, some advanced concurrency nuances were missing — for example, the composition of atomic operations and the need for CAS (compare-and-set) loops in certain scenarios weren’t really discussed. Still, it’s a solid course for beginners who want to get an overview of coroutines.

Really good course to either fill up the gaps or learn from scratch. It covers really major part of the information you need to know to work with. However, wanted to suggest reducing the part of manual coding and project setups, that just repetitive and takes extra time. Also, maybe it's only my feeling, but I guess it's worth mentioning some more specific real-case scenarios on how particular functionality might be used. Besides, I encountered some extra questions during the course, like what if we have more than 1 consumer in the case of channel buffering, so I'd suggest considering a bit more edge cases for a better understanding of how it all works.

Very concise course without exceeding the scope of the material! I liked how simple it was to demonstrate the topic at hand without building an intricately massive project that dilutes the main point of the topic.

The course is good, really well explained, and I recommend it a lot to anyone that wants to learn the basics of Coroutines and Flow. However, I would like to suggest an improvement: please use examples that are a bit closer to a real use case. This course, like many others online, try to explain a concept by using the most banal examples possible, for example, asserting that 1+1 = 2. "I create a code that prints Hello after 1 second, and look, in the practical example, the word Hello is printed after 1 second". For me, when the example is that simple, I don't see where to apply the concept and then I don't learn properly because I still have doubts on how to use what I just learned. In this course, using Room and Retrofit were great examples, but for basically the rest of the course, the practical example was exactly the same as the slide used to explain the concept! Please, improve the examples, make them more real. That said, thank you very much for the course!

The course is very good and fully met my expectations. It helped me a lot to grow professionally, especially in my current moment as an intern. I will definitely recommend the course and look at other courses offered by Catalin.

Hi Catalin, 1. Your approach of teaching with simple examples has enabled to understand and apply Coroutines with ease. There were certain explanations though which were incorrect, and I was able to correct myself on that by either looking into the questions asked & answered by other students or by referring to the original documentation. I hope such confusions can somehow be corrected in future. 2. I wish there was another Android project that demoed the usage of Channels and Flows together. 3. In many projects demoed here, we see a crash/bug mainly on rotation of device. Many students have questions on the same, and some of them have provided their working approaches. I wish these are fixed as well. Anyways, one can refer to my Repo(https://github.com/kaushiknsanji/Complete_Coroutines-Catalin_Stefan), which contains all the demoed projects with my own fixes around it. Because there were some flaws here and there, I have removed one star. Overall, it is a pretty good course to learn and begin with Coroutines. Does not contain any advanced stuff, so it may not be beneficial for those who already know the basics and have done some projects using it. Regards, Kaushik

The Tutor explanation is clear and concise, he provides examples in order to get the way coroutines works using both general and Android examples. Of course I recommend you take this course with at least some lettle knowledge at Android development. I highly recommend to take this course.

I found only two drawbacks to this course first of all the author doesn't answer the questions asked in the questions sections at all, at least he didn't answer mine. And the other thing was that in the last two sections he showed the practical implementation of the contents taught but he should have applied the topics in a project or so, that would have been quite more helpful. Rest it was a very good course. Keep it up

It was a great course and straight to the point with examples of application. It would have been great if we were given some real world scenarios, especially in Android on how some of the coroutine, flow and channel features were applied in general. Otherwise, great course overall
