Just what I expected, I still wished that the instructor could explain a bit more on how to do nested queries, because the final result is not the best result since it gives all items instead of showing the one filtered by the parent item. But still excellent content if you are Dotnet DEV and want to learn from scratch GraphQL

Yes. Like I mentioned, there must be an issue with DbContext and the DateTime type with .Net 8 when trying to add or updating data. DbContext is wanting something like a DateTimeUtc GraphQL Type. The package manage can't add the sample records and the Reservations table bombs out on mutation.

This course is an excellent resource for learning GraphQL while diving deep into essential concepts of .NET Core, such as dependency injection and the repository pattern. It goes beyond the basics and provides a hands-on glimpse into cloud deployment, using Azure Web Apps and Azure SQL Server, which adds a practical dimension to the learning experience. The course covers key topics like creating model classes, mapping them into GraphQL types, building schemas, and registering queries and mutations with the schema. It also demonstrates how to handle multiple query and mutation classes effectively, making the entire process of working with GraphQL intuitive and structured. I thoroughly enjoyed following the step-by-step guidance to build the reservation app and was able to implement it successfully. By the end of the course, I felt confident that I could handle a GraphQL project in the future with ease. Highly recommended for anyone looking to gain real-world experience with GraphQL and .NET Core development!

The explanation of GraphQL concepts in this course is exceptional. The content is broken down into easily digestible, small chunks that make learning straightforward and enjoyable. This is the go-to course for anyone looking to master GraphQL with .NET Core Great Job Asfand

This is mostly good information, gave a good overview of graphQL. There were some technical challenges with outdated nuget packages that required a fair amount of additional research. I would expect these to be resolved in a paid course like this. Also, I fully expected to learn how to consume a graphQL api call from another application. This was not addressed at all.

Been looking into this type of course. Just curious on one thing. Just an example, If my i have a 3 layer nested object type1 - contains a list of type 2 - each type 2 contains a list of type 3 if type 1 has 1000 type 2, that would mean 2 calls. but if I include type 3, that would mean 1002 calls? wonder if there's a way to optimize that

This is a compact course which covers all the fundamental knowledge about GraphQL. It is highly recommended to developers from .NET background who want to know how to integrate GraphQL into .NET. Thanks to Asfend for his detailed explainations. I know this course is mainly Backend focused but If it can include some basic Frontend use cases that will be perfect!

The course was awesome indeed. Whoever not willing to read the docs and want to get hands on fast then this course is must. The main reason for giving 4 stars is there was no talks about Subscriptions. Only Quries and Mutations were explained but nothing about Subscriptions. Also, the resolver could be explained in further details but it seems the course was only to get started with GraphQL.

Liked: - explains a basic meaning and usage of GraphQL (queries and mutations) - shows a basic implementation of GraphQL on .Net. Disliked: - obvious mistakes like wrongly implemented "GetById" (using index instead of finding values with "Id == 0") - after explaining basic implementation on .Net, a little "real-life" project created. But instead of providing additional info (like how GraphQL subscriptions work, error handling, authorization, caching) we just see a lot of copy-paste. - we first implemented REST API but it was not used. What for, if at the beginning it was said that you should be familiar with REST? - parts like commenting some code to build, some huge tooltips saying you should have done also XXX for this to work. For a paid course, it could've been edited better.
