A really clear and well-structured course, perfect for beginners on the tin whistle. It gave me a strong understanding of the fundamentals and the confidence to get started. I also appreciated the the more advanced sections are there to revisit as you improve. Mikael Baggstrom's choice of songs with tabs was excellent and made practice both fun and accessible.

Cannot view lessons. They will not play. I tried this over 3 different devices, same result. I asked Udemy for help but received a bunch of online things to do instead of addressing my concern. Having a real person to speak with would be really nice. I have limited time to play and practice my music. I don't want it taken up by having to go down various rabbit holes. I don't see myself recommending Udemy to any of my piers. Note: Has subsequently been corrected and have change review to 5 stars

Some lessons, like lesson the most recent one, cover material that are of little interest at this point in my learning. I'm still at a very basic level, so being able to transpose keys isn't useful. Except for that, I find the instructions very valuable and clear.

I have played the tin whistle for several years but have learned lots from this course. The course is structured to give you a good grounding in the instrument as my previous learning was done in bits picked up from various places.

Yes. The instructor is friendly and easy to understand. I would enjoy taking lessons from him in person because I feel he'd be receptive to answering questions and dealing with areas of struggle.

I'm starting from scratch so the guidance on tuning, warming the whistle, correct holding, etc. were all things I would not have known if I just picked up the whistle and tried to play.

So far this course has far exceeded my expectations. I have learned more than I thought I would. Instructor is knowledgeable and very personable. Great format and learning platform. I have more that gotten my money's worth and this is only the beginning!

Mike is a master teacher. He explains things very clearly, and his passion shines through everything he does. He follows his heart and learns/teaches things that truly interest him. Highly recommended.
