Course Description
Welcome to Lighting in Unity where we are going to cover lighting theory for games created in the built in renderer, Universal render pipeline and the high definition render pipeline
We will start with lighting basics, covering color theory, lighting characters and objects, color harmonies for creating great game aesthetics, baking real time global illumination and baking static light maps and using lighting probes for dynamically moving objects
In the built in renderer we will be lighting an interior bar room scene, using available light sources such as windows and wall lights. We will be matching color temperatures to real world values to make the scene look authentic
In the Universal render pipeline we will be lighting a cartoony style horror environment using saturated colour mixes. This could be useful for mobile style games as well as games that feature hand painted stylized graphics
In the High definition render pipeline we will be lighting a realistic scene using different times of day and looking at using fog volumes for volumetric lighting to create impressive visuals for games. We will look in detail at post processing to create AAA visuals for games. HDRP is used for top game titles and so mastering lighting in this render pipeline can be very useful for making your games compete with other top titles
So why not enrol today and I look forward to seeing you in my course

The course is fine for the most part. I find the color theory especially useful. However, I was expecting more technical details for the features.

Pretty basic course but you obviously can learn a few things as a beginner

good concepts, learned new things I was unaware of. Good for a proper introduction for a newbie as well as for someone revising the main points

I really liked the course. I now know what options there are for configuring lights and effects and what the differences between the rendering pipelines are. I would have liked more information about the decisions you make when designing a scene. How do you actually go about configuring the lights? Are there any best practices or is it done by feel?

The course was a long journey. I learned a lot about light, color and light settings. The instructor answers questions immediately. The course gives you a new perspective. 5/5

Great course. Learned quite a bit. URP and HDRP is not really my target since I'm on mobile but BIRP was really good. URP and HDRP are also good if you're interested in how to approach lighting a scene. I think the videos could be shorter but you can run them at increased speed. Especially the ones that might not be applicable to your use case.

Excellent course really useful to clarify some issues, al helpful theme was the fill light across the scene (found in masion- urp), and the color theory applied in the light, the only troubble i had was with the volumetric fog looks like unity 2022 does not support graphic cards 900 and lower

Lighting is (was) a major weak point for me. This course was extremely helpful in understanding the basics. My main focus right now is URP. I found the URP to be informative and useful. The HDRP section has me thinking about developing using this pipeline.

It was really quite a beneficial course. i'm glad I bought it. The instructor's diction and intonation were very good. I recommend it.
