Course Description
Having the skills and confidence to handle difficult conversations with staff is an essential part of being an effective manager. This course aims to remove the fear factor from difficult conversations and show how the right approach can help turn that tough talk into a constructive dialogue.
It could be addressing someone’s behaviour or work performance, breaking the news about redundancies, turning someone down for promotion or trying to get a long-term absentee back to work. Whatever the issue at stake, being able to approach these kinds of difficult conversations constructively is a crucial skill for managers. A positive outcome can mean the difference between an employee becoming more engaged and productive, or getting increasingly dissatisfied, going absent or even making a grievance claim.
This course uses powerful original drama and insight from leading workplace mediation experts to look at difficult conversations in a new light and demonstrate how to achieve the outcome you want.

This course made me see how other managers be fair in addressing issues with staff and that problems can be dealt with in a professional manner

The topic has been on point and what I had hoped to find; just a few slight difference in terms as I am in the US, but the content is still very applicable.

This is a good match. Difficult conversations are not easy to handle and I believe this course will assist in equipping me on that.

Although there were quite a few takeaways that are very helpful, the course wasn't exactly what I expected. I was looking for something geared more towards difficult conversations with clients. This course and the solutions are focused on internal scenarios. Again there are some items that can definitely apply to interaction with clients, such as....not becoming combative, taking note of your body language, agreeing on a solution or action plan. But I also feel like there are situations and concerns specific to conversations with clients...that aren't addressed in this course.

The analysis scenes at the end gave more context on what the problems were in the first place. It would have been nice to know some of the background - (not the analysis - just the background of why the difficult conversations were being had in the first place) in the beginning of the session. I felt like I came into a movie half way through and had to stay and watch the beginning.

Great content but some technical glitches. The system kept pushing me back to previous sections I had already covered. Other than that a good course.

I have been having conflict with members of my team and lost my temper more than once. This course will teach me how to react more effectively.

I liked the real-life situation that were exposed in the course, and I believe this abilities can apply not only for managers, but also for team members to improve the communication between them and with the other business areas too. I would 've liked to have more exercices/notes/examples but I'm ok with the situations exposed here.
