Mike has his own specific teaching and explaining style. Once you get used with it you start understand what is he talking about, but for that, probably, you must take at least a couple of his courses. Myself I feel a lack of music theory in his explanations, so I believe the could give more of it, so that students understand better the logic, the pattern and the rules. Thanks!

Excellent course. Mike demystifies the mysterious! He breaks down scary sounds, atmospheric textures, which instruments to use, how to use low bass and high piano. This class is masterful!

A good choice, both for the tips explanations and examples and for the analysis. The analysis in particular is not limited to other composer's works (although they're also featured) but also about the instructor's own pieces, so we know his explaining his own mental process, not only guessing what other composers intended.

Worth the money, but finished the course feeling less knowledgeable than I had hoped and less satisfied than I have after completing other courses by this Mr. Braggstrom.

This course is great. It breaks down everything you need to know about making dark music and the different styles including music theory. It also breaks down plenty of full compositions such as stars wars and explains why it works so well. Highly recommended.

Fabulous course. So many ideas, presented in a structured fashion, and then delved into deeply using famous soundtracks and then even more deeply using Mike's own compositions. I certainly will be taking more of Mike's courses.

I especially liked the breakdown of classic dark music themes. And always Mike has a way of getting to the essence of the music.

I still loved the demonstrations given, this has calmed me down ion the direction of creating tension/scary music. Thank you

Just starting this course, but so far has had a good exercise and two good sections about tension and dissonance.
