Fantastic instructor with such a passion and motivation for teaching and inspiring composers. This course was a great experience and introduction for beginners into the fundementals of the structure of music. Finally a music theory course that is not geared towards a the classical strict and boring explanation of music, but is rathered translated in a way of learning the fundamentals of storytelling to compose the music from your heart. Fantastic course and an incredible instructor.

This is a wonderful course. It is easy for beginners to understand. The instructor is totally engaging, and his passion for music and teaching the subject is highly apparent.

Overall I was great! Straight to the point. During the lectures he would often say "listen for (insert lecture topic here) next time you listen to music". It's good advice but can be challenging without examples. I would have loved to see a challenge where you listen to a song and have to name a chord style or something like that just so I knew what I was suppose to listen for. Still, overall, fantastic coarse.

Have been searching for this type and quality of music instruction since I bought my first synth 20 years ago. Mikael is amazing. He pulls you effortlessly into the essence of what you are attempting to learn.

The comparisons to other disciplines, and treating music as a mode of storytelling really helped me through the blockage I was having in studying music. He really simplified the concepts in a way that really energized me to learn more and made it feel less technical and daunting!

This will help you improve your music. It really filled in some holes that I had in my music. I liked it very much, especially the part of chords and simplifying scales.

I'm in a 12 module music composition course on udemy as well ( very advanced) . This course hits the mark for beginners and Mike is delivering it very well. Intervals and chords , scales major and minor are very well explained in this course . Good Job Mike!
