it is has everything a person needs to learn about basic lighting positions, in a very brief and systematic way.

The course is very comprehensive and there is quite a bit of lighting styles and techniques you can learn as you go through the course. Mark is very precise in his words and the 3D studio he uses works well in explaining the set-ups. However, having said that, the course lacks completely in the human element. There are no real photo shoots and no feel of what exactly would happen in real time.

This course definitely lays the foundation and a good build up to the studio lighting from 1 light all the way to Hollywood lighting, i liked the PDF Resource will detailed illustrations and information about the setup, makes it easy to print and use for reference when out in studio without a computer

Clearly explained descriptions of the lighting set-ups. The examples of each lighting set-up and comparisons shown really brought home the effect of each light and modifier. This presenter really does know his stuff!

This was a great course, I have dabbled with photography on and off for several years just playing around with cameras and equipment I had at the time and this course really explained a lot of things I had no idea about. I have researched many things about lighting setup, seen lots of complex layouts and 3d positioning diagrams and so on, but the information Mark provided in this course really brought everything together, explained it in a way I could understand and helped me to see where I have been going wrong with certain things over the years. I love the software being used for the example lighting setups, going to give that a try myself sometime soon. Thanks again Mark for another great course, on to the next :) Michael D. Fantastic course, Mark!! Every aspect of lighting is mentioned. If you can, take Mark's portrait lighting course as well. They are a great combination. I think that the 3D software that you used was very helpful in explaining everything as well.
