Daniel Scott's course is a beginner's route into HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox and Bootstrap, built around four projects: a restaurant site, a bike repair shop, a responsive portfolio and a Bootstrap yogurt site. It runs about 16.7 hours across 127 lectures, and the bike repair project alone takes over six hours. It also covers forms, fonts, a mobile burger menu with a little JavaScript and jQuery, and putting a site live with a domain and hosting. No prior coding is assumed.

Reviewers keep coming back to the teaching. Dan is described as clear, funny and encouraging, and students like that he explains the idea before the code and sets small challenges, even when the attempt breaks. Downloadable files for each lecture let you compare your work with his. The complaints are small. One reviewer says Bootstrap has moved on to version 5.3 and left a question listing the changes, and another found his style grating and gave up after a few lessons. Several students ask for an advanced follow-up.

It was an interesting and challenging course that helped me understand the basics of coding. But also showed I am more of a web designer than a web developer.

What I liked about his presentation and angle to classes was him giving challenges every now and then. Even if I broke it or it didn't what was intended in those sections, it taught me to at least try it. Thanks a bunch! P.S. Some things in later versions of Bootstrap slightly changed, so I did leave a question pointing those out and the changes that makes them work with Bs5.3

The course is pretty good for absolute beginners. I like the additional resources like extensions and applications that were recommended during the course. Maybe boring and too slow for people who has a little experience in programming and just need to refresh html, css knowledge, so just watch x2 or special topics.

Easy start! (31/Aug/2022: I finally finished the course! It took 25 hours for me to finish because I sometimes tried to arrange the elements by myself. I heard lots of people give up in the middle but I could complete it! This course was really fun and easy to understand even though my English level is B2. His teaching style is so clear and easy to follow. I first I thought he spoke to fast lol. But I quickly got use to the accent. I like the way he teaches so much that I went ahead and purchased his XD course, web design using photoshop course and his Adobe premiere pro course. I started with very little knowledge on web design and what I did know totally confused me, although I now feel confident in it and ready to delve deeper into the subject.
