The 10 Day iPhone App Bootcamp - NEW iOS 12 and Xcode 10 (Udemy.com)

I decided to dive into iOS development because I wanted to expand my coding capabilities. I had never worked on things like this, and I jumped in fully. I've had an iPhone since the iPhone 6. I recently bought an iPad Pro to do some other work on, and that is when the bug really got me that I wanted to do development for iOS. I bought a Mac Book Pro and this was the first class I chose to test out my abilities. The class itself was fun. Nick made it simple to follow and understand. I was able to take what he taught and apply it to my own experience and begin making my first real app (which is still in progress). The only downside for me was a lack up updates to the course. This course was written in 2018. However, it is now almost 2020. I started this class in September of 2019, right before iOS 13 released. I had already run into some code blocks that did not work as explained in the course because my versions of XCode and swift handled them differently. Do not let that stop you from taking the course, though. I had to do some digging on my own to find solutions, which I was able to do. But in a few days from now, when the new iOS releases, I worry that this class will again have issues without an update to bring it up to date.

Great course to introduce people to iOS development! Nick presented the material very well and understandable. What i really like about his teaching style is that he motivates you to keep going, and unlike other courses, encourages you to put your app on the App Store! Being a on again/off again amateur, I'm more determined to have some apps out there in 'the wild' to give me confidence that I can do it despite having a busy schedule and life! Thanks Nick!

I stopped half way the course. I struggled a lot, did not understand why I have to use certain code. I was just retyping what the teacher did, but I didn't understand it what I was doing. Nick is al very sympathetic person. That's why I came to 66% of the course. You won't let hem down but I could not do the challenges. There are also a few great things I made, so it's ok, I won't ask for a refund. Perhaps it's me, wanting too much.

Nick does an incredible job of introducing complex concepts and facilitate learning. I have brought a few courses on iOS development in the past and none of them compare to how streamlined and engaging this bootcamp is. With some advanced topics such as optionals, you might require additional study materials. However, Nick does an incredible job at giving you an introduction and dipping your toes in the water. Without hesitation, I will purchase any other bootcamps Nick creates and I look forward to an iOS 13 bootcamp from him.

I thoroughly enjoyed Nicks method of teaching. His little tidbits of info and his detailed explanations of the code were very helpful. Both his humour and story telling was relatable. When I had an issue or a question, Nick was very prompt with replying back and answering to the best of his knowledge. This was greatly appreciated so that my learning could continue to progress instead of sitting waiting for a reply. Definitely a worthwhile purchase. I wouldn't hesitate to try another of his courses going forward.

I love Nick! His courses are always straight to the point and he not only tells you how, but also tells you why. This is the biggest difference between him and other instructors who normally just code everything and tell you do this and do that. Also Nick will make you do things you learned on your own before doing something new. You really start to learn and remember things deeper once you start doing it without coding along. 3 awesome apps are great and expect him to release more fancy apps that can teach us to build, like an advanced version.

Over the course of a year I have taken 5 or 6 iOS Development courses on both Udemy.com, teamtreehouse.com, and linkedIn learning, and NICK's course was hands down the best! It was super comprehensive, he explained everything that needed to be explained, and my favorite of all, every sample app we made, WE had to start from scratch rather than downloading a file with a half built app already in it. Thank you Nick for this amazing course you've provided us with!

This is the 5th iOS course I've purchased from Udemy - all have been good in their own way. This course is by far the best one I have. Most of the courses go through the code and show you what it does but not how and why it does it. Doing the challenges in each section has REALLY helped me understand Swift and iOs much much better! Thanks Nick and keep up the good work - I'll be looking for more of your courses in the future.
