Course Description

Fully compatible with Blender 5.1 & above!

Have you ever wanted to learn geometry nodes but didn't know where to start or were overwhelmed by them? Well look no further! This course will go from A-Z of geometry nodes. We will cover ALL geometry nodes and ALL their options and along the way create some awesome scenes!

This course is structed so that every video introduces a new geometry node. With every new node we learn, we will build on the previous knowledge of what we learned. Each section of the course will introduce between 10 to 15 new nodes and by the end of each section you will have created an awesome geometry nodes scene!

This course is project based so we will be making an awesome project with each section!

We will learn how to make things such as:

  • Buildings & Villages

  • Trees

  • Clouds

  • Grass

  • A road With Cars on It

  • Vines

  • Lighting

  • Dragons

  • A Candyland Scene

  • A Sci-fi Corridor

  • Rivers With Boats on Them!

  • A Donut

  • A Strategy Game

  • How to Create Hair Using the Hair Nodes

  • AND MUCH, MUCH more!

3 Different Ways to Do the Course!

Because of how the course is structed, you can do the course 3 different ways:

Again we are going to learn every single geometry node, their options and how to use them. Because of this there 3 ways you can do this course.

For options 2 and 3 I recommend knowing a little bit about geometry nodes first. If you are not familiar with geometry nodes at all it is best to go with option 1 or do the first couple sections of the course so that you understand the basics of geometry nodes before going for option 2 or 3.

  1. Option 1 is to do the course from start to finish. If you are new to geometry nodes or would like to learn every geometry node, this is the best option. Every video we will learn a new geometry node and each video will build on the last one

  2. The second option is to skip to any project or section and do just that section. Each section we start a brand new project so if you want to do a particular project or learn some particular nodes you can just skip to that section.

  3. The third option is if you want to learn or go over a particular node you can go to just that node and learn about that node or refresh your memory on that node!

What will you have gained by the end of this course?

By the end of this course you will have learned every single geometry node, their options and HOW to use them. Not only that but you will have created some awesome projects along the way. The best part? you will now be equipped with the knowledge and understanding to create your own geometry node based scenes! This course will empower you so that you no longer are in confusion about geometry nodes but you have mastery over them like a pro!

So get the course & let's learn about geometry nodes!

This is an excellent course, and I have taken a lot of them on Udemy - and taken some bad ones. Alex updates for post Blender 4.2 where needed (I am on 5.2 and this is working fine), and while you have to sort of remember the issue, he does a good job to update - this is the bane of these instructors. He also shows shader nodes, even though he has another course. Indeed, I thought this was so good that I bought and have 2 of his other courses in queue.

Too much information. This is the course if you are a complete noobie like me in Geo- nodes. Alex explains everything with examples. Pacing is deliberately slow in the beginning which is helpful. I was trying to create that flying sussane effect with laser and got stuck at cube not extruding on the single side and after a lot of internet rummaging, I came back to Alex's tutorial and voila found the mistake I was making. Turns out all I needed was an extrude mesh ;P (with faces option) index and a compare node set to integer. Came here looking for answers, found them, love this course. Although I haven't completed it as of yet but I do intend to finish it one of these days.

I want to start off first by saying I think Mr. Cordebard offers a tremendous value in his course and he is clearly knowledgeable and passionate. This course did help me in many ways and I truly wanted to love it, but Mr. Cordebard’s teaching style is not for me and I think “beginner” is a bit misleading. The course starts with super basic navigation which seems like it is completely beginner friendly, but it isn’t necessarily true. I think the course is taught with the assumption that one already knows what Geometry Node is at all and why it should be used instead of the other tabs. I am a messy beginner, meaning I’ve done several projects in Modeling, Sculpting and UV map, but the knowledge I have is all over the place and lacking in a strong foundation. I want to understand why rather than follow instructions to achieve a look. It goes very indepth into Spreadsheet before using direct examples to explain why the data is useful and important. It uses a lot of terminology without really explaining why they are being used. This is especially true when using Shade Editor during the Snowman project. I understand that Shade Editor is a whole other course, and Mr. Cordebard did say that he was flying through it, but throwing around terminology like EVEE and Cycle without explaining what they even are made that portion of the course confusing to get through. This is going to sound extremely silly, but even simple terminology such as vertices being plural of vertex is assumed knowledge by people who are already familiar with 3D. I really need to understand why things are done the way they are to retain information. For example: Why do we link Mix Result to Height instead of Normal? What are the potential issue if you don’t follow exactly what Mr. Cordebard does and how do you troubleshoot? Why can I no longer select and manipulate objects like I could in the Modeling tab? It was not clear to me that being under Geometry Nodes means that any element I was adding is all considered one object, so of course I couldn’t select/edit individual element like I could before. I feel like a lot of it still relied on me trying to figure things out on my own. Lastly, this really is a personal gripe, but I think there is a downside to being overly reliant on keyboard shortcuts in any software when teaching a class. Yes, keyboard shortcuts are super important and helpful, however, they are also difficult and overwhelming to remember when the muscle memory isn’t built yet. This was evident at the beginning of the course when talking about numpad and suggesting that NO ONE uses the navigation icons in the 3D Viewport. Mr. Cordebard focused on numpad and didn’t mention that you can simply click on Preset Viewpoint to jump to any view, which is used by most people I know that have a screen tablet, where using a pen on screen is faster than using a mouse. To suggest that no one uses it, therefore ignoring how to find things manually is not completely helpful to beginners. I am not saying that shortcuts aren’t fast and helpful–in fact, Mr. Cordebard’s shortcut cheatsheet is incredibly valuable and I do highly recommend it–but shortcuts are a personal thing when people start to develop a workflow. When people cannot remember shortcuts and what the options are called, it is still very important for them to know WHERE to find things manually. A good example of this is that, in lesson 22, Mr. Cordebard shows how to organize nodes by using Frames. He said Ctrl+J, then updated the video saying it is now Ctrl+F. In Blender 5.2, it is now Shift+P. You can easily do this by selecting nodes, right click for drop down menu, and Join in New Frame. Many people cannot remember a million shortcuts if they aren’t in that software every single day. In Blender, many important menu options do have their hotkey written next to it when you hover. It would’ve been really helpful to show where they are in the menu, then point to the shortcuts, so people can pick and choose what they want to use. Once again, I do think that this is a good course for people who have foundations in Blender already or people who don’t mind looking up other tutorials for extended explanations. It is easy to follow and I would still recommend the course.

Excelente curso.

well it was really tough and difficult to understand how geometry nodes work. and how to create things with it. This course is teaching about what the geometry is. and explaining all the geometry nodes with great examples and projects. i was zero of knowledge in geometry nodes. right now i am challenging myself to create more things with geometry nodes. Thank you Alex for awesome course.

This has been one hell of a journey from the day I joined the course until now. I’ve learned so many new things that I never thought would even be possible. All the confusion I had about different nodes, how they work, and how to combine them effectively with others has finally been cleared up. One of the best things about this course is that whenever I forget something about a node or technique, I can always come back and rewatch the lectures to refresh my memory and recall the important details. If you’re someone who is new to Geometry Nodes and wants to truly understand and master them, this is by far one of the best courses available on Udemy for the subject. I highly recommend it. Learning Geometry Nodes becomes much more approachable and enjoyable with such an amazing instructor like Alex Cordebard. And to Alex, if you’re reading this: thank you for creating such an incredible course and making the learning process so much easier for people like me. I’ll always be grateful for the effort and knowledge you shared through this course.

So far so good but I am a beginner and don't know what I don't know. Software updates are included with clips from the instructors "future self" which I save for my future self as I am learning with an older version on a 14 year old Mac. I stop every 10 minutes to practice what is presented so it takes me an average of 3-4 minutes to internalise each minute of instruction.

Hey Mr. Alex! sorry for not leaving a note along the rating, this course is MAGNIFICENT in every single ways. i just finished the grass scene and this taught me a thing or two about geometry node. i will be purchasing your other courses too! given that this taught me so many things that it would take me another year or so to learn. and i have been fiddling in blender for 3 years without not knowing how to do something using Geonodes let alone anything properly. I LOVE the Enthusiasm that you have when doing this. i do have bought your simulation and A to Z beginner course and i did follow through them.

How many times does he say "Very cool"? I feel like he's instructing someone on an elementary school level. If he'd just drop the "very cool" and awesome, etc. It would be much better.

By Johnson Ojeniyi on 12/23/2025

Alex is awesome! Indept understanding coupled with unparallel prowess of being able to explain difficult topics to dummies stands him out. He also takes the time to prepare updates to his video via "Alex from the future" intercept where he reviewed what changed and how new version of Blender has impacted initial videos. Alex, you have a regular customer in me going forward..... Thank you.
