I haven't finished the course yet, but it's okay, I guess. I'm starting to understand how the nodes work and the basics of blueprint scripting. I'm just a little worried that I won't be able to connect all the pieces when I start working on my survival horror prototype.

This Unreal Engine 5 Blueprint course is highly recommended, especially if you're a complete beginner like me. The explanations are clear, step-by-step, and easy to follow even if you're still getting used to Unreal’s interface. Even though I’m currently using Unreal Engine 4, the concepts still apply really well and I can follow along without any major issues. The fundamentals are explained in a way that actually makes things click. I’m transitioning from Unity, and this course really helped me understand how Unreal’s Blueprint system works compared to what I was used to before. It gave me more confidence to build my own game projects moving forward. Another great thing is that I was still able to fully understand the material using the Indonesian subtitles, which helped me a lot while learning. The content is very complete, practical, and straight to the point. Definitely worth it. Looking forward to more Unreal courses from the instructor!

Nice course for beginners in Unreal Engine Blueprint

I absolutely loved this course! It delivers a rock solid, foundational understanding of Unreal Engine 5 Blueprint scripting in a friendly, well-structured way. Concepts are explained clearly and built up step by step, so by the end you will feel confident creating gameplay logic with Blueprints. If you’re new to Unreal or you want to strengthen your Blueprint fundamentals, this is the course to take. It sets you up for more advanced systems and gives you the confidence to prototype and build real game features. Highly recommend - everyone learning UE5 should complete it.

TL;DR: A phenomenal beginner-friendly course on Blueprint fundamentals. The instructor explains clearly, assumes no prior knowledge, and makes concepts approachable. Some frustrations with pre-built scripts, hotkey reuse, and poor mic quality, but overall an excellent starting point for learning Unreal Engine. Overall, my impressions of this course are very positive. The instructor does a fantastic job of breaking concepts down into layman’s terms. He also makes a point to show that Unreal Engine usually offers multiple ways to accomplish the same task. He cycles through these different approaches repeatedly, making it clear that there isn’t just one “right” way to do something. For me—someone with no prior experience coding, using Blueprints, or working in Unreal Engine—that was invaluable. It made the course feel inviting and beginner-friendly instead of intimidating. I’ve seen reviews where people complained that the material was “too basic,” but I disagree. In my opinion, his decision to assume nothing about the student’s prior knowledge is a hallmark of good teaching. By not presuming any baseline understanding, he ensures that even complete beginners like myself can follow along without feeling lost. That said, there were some frustrations. In the later sections of the course, he often presented pre-constructed scripts without walking through how he built them. While he only did this with concepts already explained earlier in the course, it meant I frequently had to pause the video and manually reconstruct what he had done off-camera before I could continue. I suspect he chose this approach to keep the lecture times shorter and avoid losing viewer attention, which makes sense—but it did slow me down as a learner. Another consistent frustration was the way hotkeys were handled. Because he deleted or reused a lot of scripts behind the scenes, I often found myself accidentally reusing the same hotkeys he mentioned in earlier sections. This forced me to either disable old setups or invent new hotkeys just to stay aligned with the tutorial, which created plenty of confusion. A bit more organization here—like maintaining consistency with hotkeys across the course or flagging changes more explicitly—would have helped avoid this. Even with those issues, the course is an excellent introduction to Blueprints. If you’re brand new to Unreal Engine, this provides a phenomenal baseline. It’s very focused on Blueprint fundamentals, so you may want to pair it with a broader overview course if you’re looking for exposure to the engine as a whole. Still, even on its own, this would be a great first step into Unreal Engine. The material is solid, the explanations are considerate, and the teaching style is welcoming. I fully intend to take other courses from this instructor because of how effective his approach is. My one big piece of constructive feedback: please upgrade your microphone. The frequent peaking and audio quality issues were distracting. Even an affordable upgrade in the $100–$150 range would make a massive difference. All in all, though, this is a phenomenal course—thoughtful, clear, and genuinely beginner-friendly.

It was an amazing experience. Greg Wondra is a brilliant teacher who breaks down complex topics into manageable chunks, just the way I like it. As a gameplay animator with no coding experience, I wanted to improve my Unreal Blueprint scripting skills and strengthn my basic foundation before tackling more complex animation features. This course exceded my expectations. Greg's teaching style made everything easy understand and follow with practicl examples and hands on approach. I’m glad I chose this tutorial over the others. It was perfect for me. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn blueprints in a simple and fun way.

Before this course, I did two others about learning blueprints. I gave up, teachers don't explain every concept, like click here then here, and that's the result... So I was so lost about some crucial concepts in blueprint scripting ! Then I took this course and waoohh, this is exactly what I was looking for, a course where the teacher explain every step by step, to make sure we understand everything. You will find a lot of graph examples here, that you can apply to your own work. Now, I'm feeling really confident about it and I'm ready to move to harder courses. I really recommend the course to any beginners like me who want to dive into this amazing world.

I'm new to Unreal Engine... I've spent the last 2 months getting familiar with Unreal Engine via this course and a one other. I'm coming from a Unity background. Unity had Bolt which I hated and did not bother to learn. I needed a '101' type course to guide my learning Blueprints and Unreal Engine in general. I wanted to get proficient with Blueprints before heading into C++ coding to see what Blueprints offers in the way of rapid prototyping of a game. I'm not disappointed! I have enjoyed this course and I would 'highly' recommend it to anyone wanting to learn Unreal Blueprints or anyone coming from Unity to Unreal. The two courses I've completed on Unreal have convinced me that Unreal Engine is far superior to Unity in many respects for developing games. This course should be on your wishlist and considered 'Essential' or 'Required Reading.' Mr. Wondra... great job on the content!

This course is great! It really helps me to understand the structure and capabilities of Unreal Engine. Don't miss it. Here are the roots! This is actually programming language, so if you want to become game dev my advice is this to be your second course. Firstly go thru some short follow game-demos on YouTube or here and after that start this course. If you do like this you'll be more intrigued here and you'll get much more then you expect. After this course go for more advance game project and your own project. After that C++ essentials and finally C++ project. After a few mistakes this is my current roadmap. Also I recommend you to get familiar with Blender - to make some assets - it's easy, fun and very helpful. Thank you mister Wondra!

The Best There Is That is not hyperbole. I don't know Mr. Wondra. I gain nothing from saying this. Other than the quality information of this course. I've been learning UE4 for about 4 years now. In that time i've read chunks of documentation. Taken tutorials at the UE learning hub. And checked out the best of YouTube. So objectively Mr. Wonder is the best source to learn Blueprints there is. If you're new to UE or need a refresher this is the course. I was literally looking for a modern source covering the basics. When this course dropped. I couldn't ask for more. And you'll be hard pressed to find better.
