Buttons
Images
Text Boxes
Horizontal & Vertical Boxes
Spinner Boxes
Sliders
Uniform Grid Panels

Very comprehensive! Aside from the complexity that a User Interface can be, this instructor tackles it with a positive vibe that turns the challenge of putting it all together, in to an exciting learning experience. I like how the courses are sometimes broken down in to really small sections, it makes it easy to go back and study only what you need. Thanks for this great learning opportunity.

I believe it is because it originally expects zero experience from the user point of view, but i find that several instances of logic done here are not as efficient, optimal or are downright considered bad practices, such as doing direct bindings to functions since those work as a tic, and since those are repeated several times it could affect the overall performance greatly. It could instead teach how to make a function that takes care of populating several pieces of information at the same time, then referencing the same function by using custom events or other options

Mr. Wondra's courses are always well prepared and he always takes the time to explain everything in detail, making his courses a good match for complete beginners. This course was no exception and beginners will most likely find value in it - the course is imo not difficult and focuses more on the visuals of the UI rather than overall functionality. This could, however, be a downside for some students closer to the intermediate level who are more interested in best practices and functionality (rather than looks), i.e. in making their UI modular, optimized, with clean scripts and useful in terms of gameplay (inventory system etc.). This kind of students could possibly feel like the topics I just mentioned get a bit lost in over-explaining small details and repeating the same procedures over and over. But as I've said, definitely a solid course for beginners, plus the well prepared and well spoken instructor already makes this a better course than majority of other courses over here.

I took this course in 2023 using UE5. While the course itself was recorded a few years ago in UE4, for the most part its age wasn't an issue, and the few road bumps you might encounter are usually answered in the comments. Overall it was still a good survey of how UI Widgets work and an introduction to the common features. You will not know everything about Unreal UI when you finish, but you will know enough to get a lot of basic needs done in your project, to build upon in the future. Note that this is not an art or graphic design course, it won't teach you how to make your UI *pretty* (and you'll be using free assets from the online marketplace). This course is scripting-focused and all about learning the underlying nuts and bolts to make your UI interactive and functional, as well as modifying gameplay based on user input (e.g. letting the player modify walk speed, health regen rate, voice line taunts).

Really good Specialty Course. About the right length. Lots of practical lessons on how to create a Character UI system. What would be a good addition is a final 'pulling it all together' video or set of videos for how to integrate into a game. Also a few add-on segments or resource notes on things to be on the lookout for UE5 users that are a little different would be helpful for each section. Sometimes things get lost in the Q&A. A follow on course on developing an item collection system like in Zelda would be of interest.

I was exposed to many aspects of creating UI in Unreal which came in clutch for my current project. The author went an extra mile to introduce students to save game functions, pawn swapping, pawn material manipulation, and took care regarding null reference exceptions. The author endeavors to fully explain what each script does and performs a recap after each script is written.

Wirklich guter Kurs!

This has been my favourite course for Unreal so far!! The enthusiasm from Greg is so motivating and he doesnt hold back on any details. What I learned far exceeded my expectations. My only criticism for not giving the full 5 stars is, I would have liked some opportunities to test what we have learned throughout the course. Alot of the later stages are rinse and repeat which would have been great to be told to attempt before Greg showed us how to do it. Regardless, cannot recommend this course enough.

Greg is good instructor. Videos are 1080 quality and audio is excellent. He never skips showing every step he took. I think this is his best course (I have other courses from this guy. Those are not as good as this one). Greg has always this little small tips on top of already very cool stuff. He certainly went an extra mile (or 2) on this course content. Plus some of the comments of other students are invaluable in my personal learning curve.

Great course. That is yet another course by Mr. Wondra that gives exactly what it says it does. Everything is carefully explained and easy to follow. Covers many different UI aspects. It is a very complete course on UI. The only thing potentially worth adding would be some kind of drag and drop video tutorial, but that can be found in many places all over the internet. Thanks Mr. Wondra! Looking forward to getting your future courses!
