Course Description

Introduction

Game development is a fun and creative profession but it can be quite hard to learn especially if you want to do it alone in the indie space. That's where I come in, in this course, not only will I teach you how to make a game with unreal engine blueprints from start to finish but instead of asset flipping or using premade assets you will also learn how to create your own characters and environment using the free software blender! We will start from a blank template and work towards making a 10 minute survival game with Zelda like aesthetics.

What you will Learn

        In Unreal Engine

  1. Creating Blueprints for game mechanics and controllers

  2. Learn to communicate between different blueprints

  3. Dynamic and Modular Materials

  4. Making Complex interactive widgets

  5. Creating a Main and Pause Menu

  6. Making various common game and RPG mechanics

    In Blender

  1. 3D Modeling in Blender

  2. UV Mapping

  3. Texturing Game Assets

  4. Baking and exporting Game Ready textures to Unreal from Blender

  5. Exporting Meshes to Unreal

  6. Creating Props, Environments and Characters

Who is Course for?

  1. Beginners and Intermediate users who want to streamline Blender and Unreal for their Game dev workflow

  2. People who want to know the full pipeline of making a game from scratch

This is the one of the only courses that explains unreal engine and blender very well. But around lesson 20-25 i lost connection with the instructor. He could've simplfy a lot of the logic into fuctions. Also a keyboard display on the videos would be helpful because i tried to figure out most of the shortcuts for a while. Overall, this course gives you fundementals for the game, ui and blender design. 8.5/10

Very great course. The instructor is fast and do not lose time in explaining things, so this may be a little hard to some people follow, but I do not had so many problems. I had difficult in Blender classes, but this is not a Blender beginner course, so I think that's fine.

The course overall wasn't bad, but when it came to the design of Blueprints, there was too much repetition of copy-pasting, which didn't feel very refined. While this approach might be acceptable for a first game, trying to implement it in larger projects would likely cause a lot of difficulties. The instructor has a broad range of knowledge across Blender, Materials, Niagara, and Widgets, though none of these areas were covered with deep insight. However, for beginners, there are likely still many valuable things to learn

This is a really good course and you can learn plenty of things out of it, one of the best things this course offers is showing you the way from creating whatever you like in blender and then taking it into UE5, most courses give you all the assets needed, which is a good thing, but also creating what you need for your game is one important step in game development that you really need to learn, so I'm glad to this course covers that. That being said, it's also one of the two things that I think this course needs to improve, anything UE related is explained in detail, but the blender process could use more explanation, specially making the UV maps, textures, nodes, I found myself just following along without knowing what or why I was doing that, I was googling some of the stuff to make things work out because they weren't explained or were completely missed. The 2nd issue may be or not a big deal, but you're mostly on your own if you have any question, it's been months since the last time a question was answered so, if you're stuck, good luck waiting for a student to help you out in case somebody reads your question. If you can see past this few issues and blender is no problem for you, this course is awesome and teaches you plenty of things, from materials, to widgets, niagara system, functions, custom events, menu, UI and more.

It's a good course for beginners, but I have to warn that the instructor doesn't really follow good practices when structuring his project, nor does he always do sane logic in blueprints. For example, he takes an easy 6-7 node timer parsing function and somehow convolutes it into 20 nodes. Overall, a good course I think. Especially for those who like to SEE results each lesson. Worth the purchase, just always keep an open mind on how to accomplish logic in blueprints and structure your project folders.

I learned so much during my time with this course! Many thanks to the instructor and looking forward to doing cool things with what I learned!

He goes way too fast on the Blender stuff and leaves out certain hotkeys but otherwise I'm following great.

I love tutorials like these, although I have been using Unreal for almost two years. As a non-programmer and non-artist, it is always refreshing to see tutorials like this that give a full tutorial without being overcomplicated. This refreshes me of basic stuff and I am still learning. Thanks

i give this course 6/5 stars. it has the essentials of blender together with unreal. Fast paced but the instructor gets to the point and prevent bloat lessons that dont teach you anything. You go from nothing to creating assets and exporting them into Unreal. You could say the content in this course is....[insert dramatic pause]...."Unreal"
