I recently completed the training, and I must say it was highly educative and impactful. The sessions were well-structured, engaging, and packed with practical insights that I can apply immediately in both professional and personal communication. I learned a great deal, and the experience has broadened my perspective significantly.

It looks like a course for psychologists. I'm not sure this approach would be useful in a workplace setting. While I do acknowledge that it could have some value, I believe that value would be only partial. There is a risk that your own opinion may never be expressed at all, and the loss is not necessarily yours but the other person's. By not hearing your perspective, they miss an opportunity to build, refine, or challenge their own views based on the information and insights you could have contributed. Personally, other people's opinions help me shape my own, and I do not find an approach focused primarily on leading me toward self-disclosure universally beneficial. Sometimes I need to hear even conflicting or challenging perspectives so that I can adapt, strengthen, or reconsider my own. Of course, it depends on the situation. In the examples provided, the manager's role quite clearly calls for being more of a psychologist than a person offering ideas, opinions, or topics for reflection. The more challenging situations arise when the context requires a blend of both approaches. In such cases, striking the right balance between active listening, thoughtful questioning, and the sharing of perspectives becomes important. Sometimes people benefit most from being guided toward their own conclusions, while at other times they benefit from exposure to alternative viewpoints that can broaden or challenge their thinking.

The course offers solid foundational information on active listening, and the instructor clearly cares about the topic. He present with a friendly demeanor and a consistent, tidy background that keeps distractions low. For me personally, I found the content a bit repetitive at times. Much of the material covered concepts I would consider common sense or things I was already familiar with. I feel the course could be streamlined into a much shorter format without losing any important value. His teaching style may work very well for many learners, but I occasionally had difficulty following certain sections because of the challenge I had with audio clarity. This may not affect everyone, but I wanted to mention it for others who, like me, rely on heavily crisp audio for learning. Overall, the course provides a good introduction to the basics of active listening, especially for those new to the subject.

Great Job Jamal, You kept the entire course interesting. I have always been very good at remembering names because I made a concerted effort to listen to a name when introduced and plant it to remember. Your course has made me realize the various techniques I can use to listen better and remember what I just heard. Thank You. M. Castelli

Overall a good course. For me, it's primarily a refresher, but with some handy additions. The concepts are balanced well between concept and example. The Cognitive Biases section was particularly well done. This course may benefit from a Neurodivergence section. Many of the behaviors listed in "How to Detect a Lie" or "How to Spot the Signs of Nervousness" are signs of ADHD. If one can endure the behavior during conversation, that can build trust.

Every topic is very relative to the real time scenarios. However, I don't completely agree with gestures indications, as there might be multiple intent for 1 gesture (speaking with personal experience).. Overall good Training... Thank you!
