Ed Foychuk

Hi guys! I'm Ed Foychuk, and I've been a professional illustrator for decades now. Most of my adult life I was based in Asia, so a lot of the work I have from that period is of an animation style. I did however grow up on Canada, so western comic books are definitely my foundation.

I've got a background in Education and Strength Training, and always wondered how I'd combine all of my passions and worlds... and then Udemy came on the scene! I love creating courses for you, my students. I've got 20 so far, and dad jokes aside, I think my passion shines through. My specialties are in breaking down subjects, understanding structures, Anatomy, and story telling.

At 20+ courses published on this site, I've gained a lot of experience. I've learned so much from my students, and really appreciate all of the feedback and support given.

I love working as a freelance illustrator and instructor. It's opened up so many possibilities in my life, and I want to share that all with you.

This course was good and I had fun drawing a lot, this course help me overcome some insecurities I had with drawing. However I feel the hour long videos was not needed, since most students wouldn't be able to replicate something of that caliber from this beginner course that teaches the basics alone, luckily there are more courses that deals with advance topics. Be that as it may I still had fun drawing, thank you.

its not telling me much

Absolutely awesome. I am coming into this course with some experience drawing already, but it helped me to loosen up and draw with way more expression than when I started. Ed's explanations are super clear and the exercises and tips are beyond helpful. He gives you the tools to learn the logic behind the drawings, not just where to put what lines. I think this course is a must if you're really interested in learning to draw, well, everything!

I feel like I'm getting some good material out of the course so far, just paying to attention to some specific details that I might've missed.

Vielen Dank !

I found this course to cover a broad, from fundamentals through to a level I could choose where I wanted to take my art studies further. This was exactly what I needed as I had not touched any level of 2D art for decades. I am now undertaking the Design Characters course as my goal is to make some 'simple' characters for a YouTube project. If you are wondering where to start with drawing, this is definitely worth a shot!

Phenomenal teacher, and my drawing has skyrocketed thanks to his brilliant lectures and exercises. Count yourself lucky if you stumbled onto this, and buy right now! lol seriously, it’s so much fun, he makes everything understandable and easy, and even gives feedback when possible. Folks, this course is basically a mini art school you learn so much. You’re still reading? Buy the course! You will be a better artist, no matter your experience, so do it! Enjoy!

I have drawn most of my life, but after taking a break from it I decided to take on a course to re introduce me and freshen up on some long forgotten skills. I'm not even done with the course and I am not only relearning things, Ed is introducing me to new topics that I have not learned yet! He is clear in presentation and gives plenty of examples and opportunities to learn, 100% recommend! -EDIT: Now more than half way through the course I am so glad i bought the course! Im doing line of action and landscapes 1000% better than ever before, Ive always been one to draw what I see, but I am now beginning to UNDERSTAND what I see, and soon will be able to draw what I WANT, not just what I see. Great course!!!

I feel empty inside now that I've completed this course. It's weird. It took me awhile to finish it (due to life .. and SQUIRREL!). But, I'm sad that I've finished it. I learned so much. I'll probably re-take the course just to solidify the vast amount of knowledge that the instructor imparted. So many valuable topics were covered. My favorite was the "Rule of 8". Oh my. I'm at a loss for what to do now...

Just turned 56. Work 50 to 60 hours a week crunching numbers. Took this course as an interest project, something to keep my mind active and creative. Turns out, I am really enjoying the content. I actually look forward to spending whatever spare time I can learning to draw. I am, in fact, already looking to the instructors other drawing courses. I like his teaching style and method. Very laid back, fun, and informative. Highly recommend this course.
