Kinetic Typography in After Effects: Motion Graphics Course (Udemy.com)

Pros: -I learned a lot and I enjoyed the material! -easy to follow -great examples that we can actually use in our everyday projects -quick and to the point Cons: -you kind of flew through the "you can make your own Hello audio file" and, as most classes have Resources, I half-expected to use yours. So I had to pause the video, make my own, etc. Suggestion: say in the video "Take a few moments and create an audio file using any recording software, or even your smart phone. Here's the script I used, so tailor it to you. Give it this same file name just to reduce confusion. When you're done, proceed with the video". -if you gather any free resources off the internet (the paper texture, for example), include it in the Resources file so we don't have to find one

I come from a video editing background, and needed to pick up a few skills to expand my project options. Blazed through it, and the project and process were clean. As someone who has a large reel behind them, I would have liked to see more "why" we do certain things for each step, so I can apply the why to create new ideas from the concepts rather than just a copy of the course project.

Great course! A ton of input, concise and on the point. Phil jumps right in, but explains every step along the way and therefore delivers a great learning-by-doing when you work on the projects parallel to watching his course. Thanks a lot! Just bought his big AE Masterclass as well and could fast forward the first two lessons, because I already got the experience from this course.

Found Phil after following videos on YouTube. This course is easy to follow along with and I have picked up new skills which have already been put into practice with paying clients, who are loving the results. Recommend this course for anyone who wants to just get into it quickly and learn new skills without having to feel lost because of lots of tech heavy talk and too quick instructions.

Phil is great. Doesn't bog down with unnecessary detail. And very likable. Would give more stars if more camera moves were shown, or if simulated camera moves were shown such as "traversable 3D space" (including 90 degree camera moves) or the "navigation feeling" of Prezi presentations. Also could stand to add an example or two of artfully presented title sequences such as is done in movie opens that build unique effect on top of effect. But, with this course exactly as it is, you will be able to create reel-worthy kinetic type. Definitely worthwhile.

Thanks so much for teaching this stuff. but I have one question you didn't taught us about your videos which you show us at first how you create that one .(but about other effects which you used over there) I think you should provide other details as well which is showing in your video. Hope you can make another video . how you merge all projects into one . please do some thing I have another inquiries please provide me some more information. I am very keen to learn all this.Thanks

Not good for Begineers. If you have basic knowledge than you can understand it better. instructor's style is good and engaging but he seems to be in a hurry and is providing shallow info.

It was a great introductory course into AE and kinetic typography. The only thing that I had a problem with were loading new text/fonts into AE and DL & adding in a new tool. I had never done that before and it was sort of assumed in this course. Not a big deal, million videos online. I would highly recommend this course, if you're interested in motion graphics, this guy is a pro!

As a beginner, I liked the simple techniques taught by Phil that I can use straight away after the course. For example: 1) using wiggle effect presets to stimulate camera movement. 2) using null object & parent to move many layers together. 3) using textures with blending modes to add artistic flair. 4) making layers 3D & using rotate values (x,y,z) to flip in. 5) using solid layers to add colours for contrast between words. Lastly, I liked that we were able to put together a short introduction video using the 4 compositions scenes we created, with audio. Thank you for a great course!

It's honestly one of the best Adobe After Effects videos I've ever seen. The stuff that has been shown is important and it's one of the things that we don't easily find so easily on internet. Apart from other courses who just show how to use Adobe After Effects, this course is totally different and will help a learner to follow the steps of learning Adobe After Effects! Thanks for such an awesome course.
