Working with Access and VBA

Microsoft Access has a lot of moving parts. Tables to store your data, Queries to retrieve data, Forms to work with data and Reports to report on your data. Each of these Access Objects are important all by themselves, but, the real power of Microsoft Access comes when you bring all these objects together.

I've forgotten the name of the presenter, he was great! This course has helped me dust off my Access knowledge from years ago, but better. I have new insights into how Access VBA Programming hangs together. Really first rate! This has been a significant step forward in my journey back to using and developing Access databases. Thank you and thanks to the instructor.

I gave the tutor a 5-star rating in his course: Microsoft Access - Beginner to Advanced, but while this course contents were good, they offer few snippets on manipulating the database through VBA codes. Simply, the course is not loaded enough to deserve a 5-star rating. The take-aways for me were just: Error Handling, Recordset and Re-usable codes. More practical examples on events coding are required in the future.

This seems like it was lifted whole from the full Access course. The info was good but except for the Button VBA, most of what he showed did not seem to have a practice use for creating functionality for most users in VBA. I liked what I learned, but I would have liked to see how it could be applied in a more practical manner. I have some ideas for that but they stem from other experiences I have had as opposed to information the course offered.

So far the course is excellent plus ! The instructor is exceptionally captivating. His tone is great and he is very thorough. I'm enjoying this a lot to this point. Have taken several Udemy courses but Kyle is definitely, in my opinion, the best instructor so far. The material covered in this course requires many reviews and going over several times. Kyle's instructing methods and techniques are very engaging. I've finished the course and have to remark that Kyle is a natural born instructor. He's very focused and teaches with enthusiasm. I've enjoyed this course so much that I'm going to repeat it.

I had read 2 books and was confused. I got a job and needed to learn Access VBA fast and this course was brilliant and excellent for newbies like me. The Instructor had a great speaking voice and I was not bored at any point in time. I loved they way he explained things. I'm not one who picks up on things quickly, but I did here. I absolutely loved this course and plan on taking more of his courses.

Just as the course is described, this is a bare bones basic introduction to VBA and programming in general. If a student has a past basic history of any type of programming, this course will be a simple review of those basic concepts with Access used as the base. Based on the idea of basic concepts, as the NEWB indicates :), the content was easy to understand and the course, while maybe a touch slow, did a good job with the explanation and examples. As Kyle indicates, repetitive practice is key.

Wonderful! I love it. The instructor is great and very knowledgeable of Access. He is having fun with Access and so am I. It gets better all the time. He is an excellent instructor. Love it and I want more on VBA. Congratulations on a great, great course! Question: In the SImpleMath function - I have an option box for the user to choose the Operation such as + - * / . I want to pass the sign + - * / depending on the Option the user chooses. How do I do that? Love the Course! John

The instructor was fun. This is a vary basic course if you have VBA experience in other application you will be speeding up your video often. It did give me a insight into how Access VBA differs from excel VBA. This course will give you a grounding to understand other courses and the basics of VBA programing. It will help you read and understand web searches you might have on Access VBA searches. It will give you background when you study more books and videos. you will not be a Access developer when you are done but it will give you a foundation to study. It teaches principles like objects passing parameters referencing forms

Excellent staring point for learning VBA for Access. Definitely learned a thing or two that I didn't know previously. This is kind of a review for me - just getting back into it. The only criticism I have is that Kyle assumes that you know some of the vernacular that a NewB might not know. Better definitions and explanation of the meaning of those words up front would have made this a 5.0 star. All in all - A great course to get you started and well worth your time if you follow along with the examples.

I have now covered 50% of the material in this course. This course has great content and the instructor, Kyle Pew, presents the information in a clear and concise way. VBA has been an enigma to me and I am really enjoying this course. The course is organized well and it is easy to go back to review. It is also easy to increase the speed of the presentation. The material is presented in a manner that keeps your interest. The instructor's voice is engaging; not flat and boring like many online presentations. I am extremely pleased with this course. The instructor has made himself available to answer questions. Taking this course was a great decision! Thank you Kyle.
