Dragan Neskovic

Hello everyone, I'm Dragan.

Since I was a kid I dreamed about creation, about making something happen, making something alive and remarkable, something that will last forever.

As video games were my biggest passion, inspired by incredible physics and graphics back then, I started creating my own. Through my life I worked with many studios, as a freelancer and group leader, and also as both programmer and game designer.

During my game development timetable I worked in Unreal Engine, Game Maker and Unity 3D. Currently, I primarily use Unity 3D as it suits me the best if I could choose. As I've already been through a lot during my game development experience, I'm ready and glad to share my knowledge with others, so that is where I decided to make courses.

I'm new to Unity and I like the course in general. It shows end-to-end process of creating a simple game and it gives good overview of how unity can be used and where to start. I would add creating a menu screen or end screen to this course. When it comes to the content, I think that quality of the code in scripts is poor. Maybe adding a video with code refactoring is good idea. In general (not only when it comes to scripts) it feels like some parts are done to be working and not to show best practices and rules you want to follow when you work with Unity.

I had done some exercise for unity before coming in and I still able to learn something new like the logic of how Unity works. Moreover, I also noticed that the arrangement of the code do affect the outcome of the game play, interesting indeed. As for beginner in coding, I think it will take up more time to digest but you will be better to understand in the future. Great course, great work, great job.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// The course it's excellent. I could complet it from start to finish. Maybe it's obvious, but would be great to mention for whose are starting since zero with animation and Unity, which version of Unity are you using, since some code lines are not listed in previous versions. Beside that, i don't have any complain.

The teacher seems to drag on a lot when it doesn't matter and breeze through details when it is necessary to explain. I had to fix quite a few bugs by myself because the instructor failed to mention some details. Otherwise, the information is good and enjoyable to follow. The course falls through towards the end with a lot of mistakes from the instructor, a lot of unclear steps and it gets confusing and hard to follow him

This course is incredibly useful to beginners. I took one of those long, detailed courses before and fell off the cart half way through. Repetition is indeed the mother of learning. Instead of constantly jumping between wildly different systems you'll learn ways to use similar bits of code for many different purposes. Incredibly useful info for creating your own first games. Just don't expect anything hugely in-depth. If you are already a skilled coder you won't learn much off this. It's also pretty clear that the course's creator stumbles around a little bit; if you are expecting a super-professional guy in a suit you'll be disappointed. Personally I like how the instructor was clearly just himself instead of trying to be something else. Instead of editing out his mistakes, you see him make them and then fix them. Learning from mistakes is great!

It's a really useful course if you want to quickly learn key concepts of Unity. This will not take you a lot of time, because it's not extremely long and you can start to do your own video games after just a few days. I think you need to know some concepts of programming before starting here, because there is not very in-depth explanations about that. Lectures are fun and Dragan explains very well and clear.

Great course, this is great for someone like me who is new and also is a huge fan of Zelda games. However, there are certain parts in the tutorial that are not shown, as a beginner this can leave you confused and unable to proceed. For example, you must attach the Sword script to the sword, but this is never mentioned in the tutorial (he must have done it off-video). Additionaly, the option of 4-direction or 8-direction movement is offered, the course proceeds with 4-direction, and if you opted for 8-direction movement, future code in the course will not be compatible. If you could amend mistakes like these, I would make this course 5-stars.

Very nice course, the instructions are clear and I learned a lot. I was able to do things a little different from the lessons, using the knowledge acquired, and this will also help me a lot in my other projects... it's a beginner-oriented course, which is great for me, since I'm a beginner. Thank you a lot Dragan, hope to take more courses like this :) The only thing I missed was some instructions on how to use music and sound effects... luckly I've learned that from other sources, but it would be very useful for those who don't, to learn at least the very basics of how sound works in Unity.
