WordPress for Beginners: Create Your Own WordPress Website (Udemy.com)

Beginning of the course was very confusing as it did not match what my screen looked like. Had to go to another course to understand what I was doing. Once I understood the screen differences the rest of the course was very informative and helpful, easy step by step explanations as well as showing which sections would simply need you to spend time playing around with to fully understand. Nice Work!

I can say that this course was good in my learning of wordpress, yet was lacking in a few areas. Pros- 1) Phil explained thoroughly how some of the features and plugings in WP work. 2) I was able to navigate through WP with little difficulty even though I had never worked with WP before. 3)I liked the fact that he provides a page with different options to webhosting and that he used free plugins in his tutorials. Cons- 1) A number of the plugins used in the course were outdated or no longer in use. I had to skip over the entire section on One Page Website demonstration because the way that the Sydney theme appeared in the tutorial videos was not how it showed on my screen after I downloaded it. 2) The way that section 2 was reedited disrupted the flow of the section,leaving out certain things that were never explained. 3) Even though I cannot fault Phil for trying to grow his business to potential clients, I felt at times throughout the course that he spent a little bit too much time talking about his blog. 4)The questions section was not very resourceful.Many questions I wanted to know the answer to that were previously asked by other people were left unanswered or unresolved.

This course is very much useful for the beginners. With the help of this course, I was able to develop and deploy my own website. Content information was GREAT...but trying to follow along was extremely difficult; the screenshots were too small and were clicked on very quickly without giving us a chance to really see where Phil was on the screen. The different websites Phil made references to in the first sections of the course got really confusing; Ebiner Designs, Phil Ebiner.com, etc. I did learn a lot and despite the difficulties encountered with this course, I do plan on looking into Phil's other classes.

I learned several new things from this course. I really like Phil's teaching style. It's also very easy to listen to his voice. (This was an important factor when I was evaluating different course choices.) I appreciated how Phil tried to find good free plugin options as often as possible. I also appreciate that Phil encouraged us to contact him if we had any questions, etc. I really like that each lesson was 5 - 10 minutes in length. Very easy to fit a lesson into my day. I highly recommend this course.

This course is just guiding the learner to follow steps of making a website step by step and makes the person to be motivated. It has a very standard format of recording and good quality of videos and sounds. The only thing which I think this course might be missing is to help you much better with some technical related issues rather than focusing on the general ones although it's labeled for beginners.

Phil Ebiner is a household name on Udemy and he proves that attribute in this course. The knowledge you get from the lessons is actually applicable to real world situations. I like that he always tries to minimise the costs because that's essential when you're starting out. He’s also a genuine instructor and quite transparent about his business policies which I find very refreshing. Lessons that are around one minute long should be incorporated into other ones because they don’t increase the quality, only the number of lessons in the course. The instructor doesn’t present himself as some faraway figure who birthed this course and afterwards isn’t interested in how it’s doing. He exhibits will to solve problems that might subsequently appear like the ones mentioned in Lesson 13 or 36. Overall, it surely poses as a good WordPress introductory course that is interwoven with bits that belong to more of an intermediate skill.

This is the first I have ever looked into building a web site and I think Phil has done an excellent job of giving me the information I need, plus a lot more. I really like the 'bite size' way he gives each step in a separate video, it makes it easy to go back and get specific points later. I also really appreciate the quick response he has given to questions I have asked, no waiting for days checking for a reply! I think everyone who is a complete novice should a lot out of this course.

The course offers a very thorough step by step information, and good news is, you can always get back to it to remember the procedures better. I do recommend this course for any beginner with WP website.
