Our take
Based on the ratings of 167 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in May 2020. No course pays to be reviewed.
Frahaan Hussain's course is a short, beginner-level introduction to building virtual reality scenes in the browser with A-Frame and JavaScript. The syllabus shows about 83 minutes of video across 29 lectures, but many of those are link and free-model lectures. The actual teaching is four sections: setup, basics, advanced and a section called The Cool Stuff. It suits web developers or hobby game makers who want a first look at WebVR. Over 29,000 students have enrolled, though the last update was in May 2020, which matters for a framework that moves fast.
Reviews lean positive. Of 167 ratings, 120 are four or five stars. Students like that each primitive comes with code, and one says the examples had enough detail to build an interesting VR site. The complaints repeat, though. One reviewer notes it uses A-Frame 0.2, and others say newer versions break the code as shown. One could not get the box to appear until changing its position. Others wanted more depth, especially on glTF models and animation. One wished the editing had cut the web searches and error fixing, and a reviewer new to XAMPP found the setup rushed.
It is a paid course, and a couple of reviewers questioned its value. One said the age makes it better suited to being free, and another gave up because the documentation was faster. Treat it as a quick orientation, not a path to a WebVR career. One five-star reviewer says the same: pair it with the A-Frame docs and community Slack groups. The main risk reviewers describe is version drift, so check the docs as you go.
Pros
- Each A-Frame primitive is shown with example code, per reviewers
- Short at about 83 minutes, so a first VR scene comes quickly
- Starter and final code for each section, plus coding challenges
- Free 3D models and VR resource links are bundled in
Cons
- Built on an early A-Frame version, and reviewers say newer releases break some code
- Thin on glTF models and animation, and several reviewers wanted more depth
- Setup is rushed for anyone new to XAMPP, and the editing leaves in web searches
This was a useful introduction to using the A-Frame framework. There was enough detail in the examples that one could actually build an interesting VR site.
The beginner label fits VR newcomers, but it assumes working JavaScript and some local server setup.

I didn't finish it because it was faster to read the documentation. Not a shortcut to learning, but maybe helpful for the super beginner..
By Giovanni Gentile on 6/17/2019
The course is really good, but isn't updated to the last version of AFrame. Some things don't work properly using the tutorial, you must use the old version of AFrame or modify your code.

This A-frame course is good to get started. However, if you need to go indepth knowledge and need to build career in WebVR, Go for documentation, slack groups in addition to this course.
By Marcin Górecki on 9/19/2017
Nothing beyond basics, but that's okay - it's beginners level. However it's so outdated that it should be available free - you really need to consult a-frame docs to see that some of the presented features are already or will soon be obsolete.

Learned some cool stuff, glad I took the course! Wish there was more editing done to cut back on things like web searches, fixing errors.
By Francisco Fernández on 6/30/2017
No ha estado nada mal, he aprendido lo básico sobre WebVR, aunque para mi gusto hubiese profundidazo un poco más. Por lo general, bien.
