Adobe InDesign CC: Your Complete Guide to InDesign (Udemy.com)

Easy to understand instructor. Clear directions, the speed is a bit fast to follow along for a complete Adobe newbie during exercises, but they suggested and showed how to use the speed decrease/increase options, as that can be a personal learning preference for each user. Overall, a great course that is helping introduce me to InDesign. Overall, way easier than I imagined. I am using 2026 so not all the buttons are where they are stated to be, I have had to a bit of searching.

Before taking this course, the last time I used InDesign was in 2012. Not only have a lot of features changed or been added since then, but I also forgot most of what I knew in the first place. This course was an excellent, condensed set of lessons that helped me to figure out the basics, to feel confident doing moderately complicated kinds of formatting, and to keep practicing and learning with it.

I have 16 years experience in Photoshop and Illustrator, and this course showed me how to do the things that I did not know how to do previous using the program as intended for layouts. The instructor demystified the various styling palettes, and demonstrated how the Master pages works in a way that is practical and inspiring in relation to real world use. Overall I would recommend this course to anyone dipping their toe into InDesign. Great foundational material, relative projects, and an easy to follow instructor.

I think this was a little more advanced than beginner. It's obvious the instructor knows and incredible amount about InDesign. I appreciate that it's hard to remember to spell out every single thing you are doing when you are so advance, but he clicks through incredibly fast and it's hard to keep up when you are just learning and have zero basis of knowledge. My feedback would be to slow down and narrate what you are doing at all times. I did learn a lot, but I had to have a friend sit in with me.

I am a native Photoshop user, but zero InDesign experience, and I need to use it for my new role at my company, and I needed to learn it quickly. I completed this in the evenings over a few days and it was perfect. Great pacing, some bits were a bit slow for me and other bits were densely informative, and overall the pacing was such that I think everyone will have the same feedback, but the parts that were slow for me may have information another beginner doesn't know, etc. I definitely recommend this course.

Great match. I know QuarkXPress really well, so finding where the buttons are is exactly what I need, and so far, ID seems substantially easier than QXP. In lecture 21, I would have liked a bit more explanation on the Convert Direction Point tool. I had to go to an outside source to figure out how to get the path to actually snap to the curve created, although to be fair, this might be because I'm working off an older version of the program. Otherwise, everything continues to be great! I'm starting to have keyboard commands memorized, and I've even figured out how to do a couple of my old QXP favorites, like Duplicate (useful for the price boxes in lecture 17) and Find/Change (combines well with lecture 30's info on character styles). I've now finished the course and feel prepared to use every aspect of InDesign at my next job, wherever that ends up being. Highly recommended to anyone looking to learn InDesign. Ottimo corso, molto chiaro e dettagliato. Utile a chi vuole imparare ad utilizzare InDesign partendo da zero. Peccato per la mancanza di sottotitoli in italiano; i sottotitoli generati automaticamente contengono molti errori, fortunatamente capisco bene l'inglese e non ho avuto problemi. Lo consiglierei sicuramente a chi capisce bene l'inglese.

I really liked the course. It had a clear structure and was easy to follow. I also liked the assignments to practice each of the learned moves right away in InDesign. Even though I already knew some elements of InDesign, it's a good introduction for getting an overview and learning all the basic moves and shortcuts. It definitely helped me to design more creatively and fluently! The only thing I wonder about is that I never received any feedback from the instructors on my assignments. That would be very helpful, to receive that feedback automatically. Overall, thanks a lot!

This course is an excellent introduction. I needed a refresher because I hadn't used inDesign for 8 years and I wanted to make sure that I had a solid foundation before moving on. Kurt is a very engaging teacher, who is clear and precise. The only downside was there is very little digital publishing, e-books and interactive aspects of inDesign. For many designers it may make more sense to jump in at the deep end and do a more advanced course. But saying this, it seems the trend of publishing is moving away from print, so a little bit more about digital publishing would still have been useful, even a beginner level! Therefore I gave this course a 4 star rating for that reason.

I actually took this course by necessity and not because I was looking forward to learning InDesign. But the course was build up in an excellent manner and it was quite easy all the way and then I wind up being able to actually create what I needed to create. I am also able to be creative and make other types of designs, books etc and now I am very happy about InDesign. It seems simple to me now - thanks to this course.
