Course Description

Description

This course is designed for intermediate users of Unity (see the Prerequisites for specific topics you should be familiar with before joining).
Though Unity comes pre-packaged with an excellent pathfinding system, we explore beyond using a black box to calculate paths through your game levels.
Pathfinding and search algorithms are a core component of game development. If you want to level up your skills, enroll today and dive into implementing your own version of A* search!
Through a carefully crafted set of lectures we learn search algorithms, starting with Breadth-First Search, diving in Dijkstra's algorithm and culminating with the industry-standard A* search for pathfinding.
All concepts are presented with easy-to-understand visuals!
Some other bonus features of those course:
  • learn to use text files or texture maps to drive level data in Unity
  • learn how to implement a priority queue (binary heap) in C#
  • learn to structure a small project using the MVC(Model View Controller) design pattern

Who this course is for:
  • intermediate Unity developers with good working knowledge of C#
  • anyone who wants to implement graph search algorithms in Unity

I always enjoy Wilmer's tutorials. He does a great job explaining things to the beginner and intermediate programmer.
Thanks!

Thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for.

Good explanations, good programming style. The course offers much more insight than many other courses that teach "just" Unity.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Amazing course.!!!

The tutor pauses and describes everything at an understandable pace. There is no unnecessary fillers of unrelated information added to the lectures. This is by far the best Udemy course I have owned so far.

Truly one of the best Tutors in Udemy, Doesn't waste time yet is concise enough to tell you what you need to know and even if you make a mistake there's a download to tell you where, everything is included, nothing is left to chance and the error checking is so magical, i only wish industry programmers would do it!

This made learning pathfinding unbelievably easy. Cannot thank you enough for this!

all good, just want a more visual explanation to be perfect.

By Sehan shetty on 7/16/2020

Wilmer keeps his explanations concise, to the point, and clear. The algorithms are explained such that the viewer is able to easily adapt them for different situations
Just keep in mind that you definitely need a c# background before taking this course.

Thanks for explaining everything so clearly and efficiently. Even though I know very little about programming, I was able to follow along and understand the project. The visuals (diagrams/animations) were especially helpful. I'll be returning to take more of your courses.
