Was quite sceptical about Visual Scripting in Unity, but after the course decided to give it a try. Course is nice and informative. In fact, at the end you have everything you need to create a shooting game. Even knowing the Bolt is not a thing anymore and we should use Visual Scripting now - everything described in the course is fully compatible with VS.

I'm a beginner with no coding experience and I'm enjoying this course very much. The instructor explains each step he takes so that you can understand the underlying reason for those actions. This makes it easier to build an understanding of the overall logic of the graphs being built. I've seen other instructors take you through each step but they don't thoroughly explain the reason why they take certain actions, and you just end up copying what they are doing without really understanding why, which makes it more of a memorization exercise rather than a learning experience - this course is not like that.

I have bought many, many courses (probably around 30 or so) from udemy and other online resources and this is probably in my top 5. Wilmer lays out everything so cleanly. It's all very easy to understand. This is definitely a must buy course if you are wanting to learn Unity. Bolt allows you to see how Unity works from a visual perspective. You can then take that same knowledge and write C# scripts if you so choose.

I'm finding it too hard. It's demoralising. There are regular exercises that are supposed to use existing knowledge, but I can't do most of them. I'm not sure if I'm failing to retain the knowledge or there wasn't enough time and repetition to cement the basic content. Some of the maths terminology used is beyond me and I did advanced extension maths in high school...although that was a long time ago. At this stage I'm trying to just push through in the hopes it will fall into place, but I'm worried the basics will be blurred by poorly retained new material.

This is an extremely well thought out and neatly put together course. The quality of the animations/slides used as teaching aids are of an excellent standard. Lectures are clear and to the point, at no point have a felt lost or confused even though I'm finding the content challenging being my first time using anything like Bolt. No part of the course has felt tedious and I think that is vital when like me I'm a slow learner and may have to replay sections to recap.

As someone totally unfamiliar with coding for Unity, bar a few short courses, Bolt seemed like a revalation--until I realised there was still a whole lot to learn. Thanks to Wilmer's course I feel confident to head out on my own, and will be participating in my first Game Jam this week having just completed the course. The pacing is excellent, with wonderful challenges at the end of each lesson which always feel perfectly balanced--each time leaving me scratching my head but never feeling lost. The countless moments of invaluable insight, from organisation to concise explanation of Unity's systems, were also a welcome addition and helped to expand my understanding of Unity as a whole. And, of course, I can't go without mentioning Wilmer's own clear, calm and super-friendly delivery throughout the course. He clearly has a knack for painting unity's systems as understandable to all, while never leaving me feel undermined if I had to rewind to truly get something. Overall, this has been the most useful course I've attended on Udemy and I'm rearing to put everything into practice. So if you're a a beginner like me (having used, but never completed much on Unity) and are looking to get into Bolt I'd certainly recommend this course.

I liked the course and the course pace. However I was not able to complete any of the exercises on my own because these require not only deeper understanding of unity itself but also of how 3 D Space and positioning works (how do vectors work, how to do vector conversion, knowlege of different components' operations and so on). The course starts with the good explaination of how bolt works But then it soon gets into a Unity territory which was hard to grasp for me (beginner level). I can imagine that this course is better suited for an intermediate user. I would strongly suggest to make an additional bolt beginner course, may be a 2-D game. Dealing with 3D Space adds an additional level of complexity

This Online course is very valuable for beginners, especially with 0 knowledge in scripting. Already have little bit more understanding of how those stuff works, especially when in YouTube there is maybe few tutorials about this. Super good small tips about Unity, if you are fresh in this game Branche. So far I am exiced, can wait for finished project!

Another great course by Wilmer. A very well structured introduction to Bolt. The chosen project and gameplay examples combine to form a well rounded course with a balanced mix of direct teaching and challenges. Wilmer's teaching style makes this course like all his others both informative and fun. I can't wait to see more content like this.

The content is pretty good. I took this course to re-familiarize myself with Unity and Bolt after being away from both for almost two years. However, I have to say that the only reason I deducted a half star was because of the (to me) irritating intro 'music' near the beginning of each segment - I can't stand it and have to mute the audio when it plays on every segment. If I wanted a hearing test, I'd go get one from a doctor. Otherwise, this is a very good course and is very relevant to where Unity is headed with Bolt. I highly recommend it as an intro to Bolt (except for the intro 'music'). I put the half star back on because the Lin is very responsive! [now when he 'adjusts' the intro music, I'll then give this course 5.5 stars :)]
