I began this whole journey through art. When in high school I developed a

very strong interest in drawing and 2D animation. From there I began
to get enveloped into the work of 3D. After Graduating High school I
attended the Art Institute of Seattle. There I gained my AA degree in
Computer animation. I interned at Surreal Software, then moved onto
working on the very first version of Xbox at Microsoft. I worked on NFL
fever 2000, NHL Rivals 2002, and Inside Drive. From there I have worked
at Activision, again at Microsoft, my own companies Creative TD and
Ozone Interactive, and am now exploring Interactive Arts experiences  at Indie Pixel. There have been many things
along the way but my love is in 3D, real-time arts, shaders, procedural
content creation, math, modeling, texturing, and helping others through
teaching.

The course covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time. If you are a total beginner it may take a couple times of watching before understanding what is all happening. Overall it was very descriptive and talked about different ways to handle a certain step depending on what you are comfortable with. Something that would be great to have added onto this would have been integrating with a game engine and utilizing those plugins after you had a finished product.

I jumped into this course with NO Houdini experience and for me it is at a nice level where I still had to work stuff out rather than blindly follow along but it is also really well explained. With this course as a foundation I was able to model my own props and I returned to it often to learn more. I have recommended this course to everyone I know thats interested in Houdini (and also to a bunch who aren't...). 5 stars from me! thank you

This course is really fun and quick. If you are new to Houdini check out the instructors free 'Dropship' course first which is a bit more beginner-friendly. I've completed this course in a slightly newer version of Houdini and there were no issues. I can't wait to build more procedural models now.

This course is definitely worth the investment. The tutor demonstrates exceptional knowledge of his field and the workflow of Houdini and Substance Painter and explains common methods and alternatives to the tasks he guides you through. The fact he manages to present the task as though we're starting together at the same point helps maintain engagement and provides additional understanding as he makes mistakes or finds bugs along with us, whereas some courses may have it finished and walk you through it and you may encounter different issues. I found the pacing to be quite good with good opportunities to analyse what we had covered and improved upon it a bit more (changing the way we place clamps to procedurally generate with the support planks instead of fixing them in place for example). I was happy as well that this focused on prop modelling in Houdini rather than Houdini Engine for UE4/Unity3D as this means I was not held back from completing due to not having the licesne. That being said, it would've been good if he had gone a bit more into detail about creating a digital crate asset that we can set up to output different configurations, which might be good for people who are not as familiar with Houdini. Overall, definitely worth the purchase, short and sweet, but definitely a good course!

I recommend this course to anyone that is getting in houdini. This was a great tutorial but it was very fast for someone that was just beginning with Houdini. I learned alot, i was able to keep up with the last few videos. There were some parts like when you said you could export using the file node but didn't show it, which confused me but i found it myself by playing around so not that bad.

Very good for helping you understand procedural modelling in Houdini. He shows you couple of ways to accomplish the same task (which is very much the nature of Houdini). Needs a couple updates to address workflow changes in Houdini 18, but the methods he shows (i.e. for-each loops vs new sweep node) still work and are important to learn.

Concepts for procedural modeling were laid out in an understandable manner. The processes taught in the course are not limiting and outside concepts/methods are easily blended with the material taught in this course. I have been wanting to learn procedural modeling to build off of my current knowledge of Houdini but couldn't find any quality modeling courses until this one. Definitely worth the money/time and will be looking into more of his courses.

Excellent course, everything is very clearly explained and fantastic to get an understanding of the flow from Houdini to Substance. It follows on very well from IP's vehicle modelling course, perfect combination of repetition to reinforce some of the core concepts plus some the introduction of some invaluable new techniques.

Excellent short course on procedural modeling. I really appreciate that this shows a complete workflow including UV's, export to Substance and building up the maps. Ideally this would finish off with exporting to Unity and Unreal as well. As a relative newcomer to creating game art it really helps me to see the full workflow. The presenter is engaging and gives clear explanations, and very quick to respond to any questions. I'd love to see more courses like this one!

The course is one of the best primers for Houdini to Substance Painter I have seen. Kenny builds up in a professional manner to allow a technical education from within Houdini while creating your first real Houdini Game Asset project. This is one of the few courses that leaves you with a completed Game ready model (high to low poly). Enough information to get your mind dreaming about your next real world abstraction within Houdini's procedural node graph. One thing to note , do not enter this course thinking you can breeze through the videos, the amount of technical information and procedures will have you pausing and rewinding, which is a good thing! Thanks Kenny.
